James Gilbert West
May 13, 1928 – June 22, 2011
Our beloved father died June 22, 2011 after fighting a valiant battle with cancer.
James was born in Lake City, FL on May 13, 1928 to Rayburn G. West and Louise Roberts West.
He served our country in the US Navy on the USS Yancey in WWII. In 1954 he married Bonnie Johnson and raised 7 children. He led a prestigious career as a Civil Engineer, leaving his imprint on many famous landmarks.
He is survived by his children Patricia, Cindy, Laura, Stephanie, Raymond, Julie; grandkids; and great grandkids. Preceded in death by wife Bonnie; son Jimmy; and brothers and sisters.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 24th at 11:00 AM at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 S. Highland Dr., Salt Lake City.
