Janet L. Dunn

September 8, 1950 - September 1, 2025

On September 1, 2025, the “favorite” of our family, our loving sister, lost her courageous battle with liver/kidney disease, one week shy of her 75th birthday.

Jan was born on September 8, 1950 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She enjoyed working for many years as a legal secretary for Rawlings, Roberts and Black, specifically for Dick Dibblee and John Black.

She met the love of her life, Jimmy Dunn, and Jan and the “Champion” were married in Palm Springs, California in March of 1983. Their celebration continued until Jimmy’s death on December 12, 2024.
Jan is survived by her sisters Karen (Tom) Kendrick, Lori (Craig) Fisher Wilson; brother, Dave (Pam) Fisher; and many extended family members.

Jan enjoyed being with friends and family for any occasion and always wanted to be the last to leave the party. She also enjoyed her time spent with friends on the golf course and playing bridge at the Country Club. She was an avid online shopper. We’re wondering if Amazon will continue to deliver to the hereafter. Everyone also enjoyed her in-depth inquiries on any subject or event being discussed (20 questions?).

The family would like to extend special thanks to the caregivers at the University of Utah Hospital who assisted in Jan’s final days. We know Jan is now reunited with Jimmy and other friends and family who have passed before her.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a charity of your choice. A celebration of Jan’s life will be held at a later date.

In Loving Memory

Oh Jan, we will miss your sweet heart, your beautiful soul, and that radiant smile. The twinkle in your eyes was just like your mom’s. 🥹 Rest peacefully and fly high. Until we meet again. ♥️ Love you. ♥️🕊️🙏

Jan was always a sweetheart, known by many when she worked at the law firm of Rawlings, Roberts and Black as "Little Jan" because Jan Glines, her co-worker, was about six feet tall. I know she and Jimmy enjoyed many happy years of marriage, and she will be missed by all of us. I give you the "Epitaph" of Merrit Malloy in her memory, though the last line should read "heaven" in lieu of "earth." My deepest condolences to all, Leonard W. Burningham Epitaph (by Merrit Malloy) When I die Give what’s left of me away To children And old men that wait to die. And if you need to cry, Cry for your brother Walking the street beside you. And when you need me, Put your arms Around anyone And give them What you need to give to me. I want to leave you something, Something better Than words Or sounds. Look for me In the people I’ve known Or loved, And if you cannot give me away, At least let me live on in your eyes And not on your mind. You can love me most By letting Hands touch hands, By letting Bodies touch bodies, And by letting go Of children That need to be free. Love doesn’t die, People do. So, when all that’s left of me Is love, Give me away. I’ll see you at home In the earth.
