Janice Eichbauer
December 23, 1942 - August 27, 2024
Janice passed away peacefully on August 27th, surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her devoted husband, Steve, and her cherished son, Mark.
Born and raised in Salt Lake City, Janice graduated from West High School and dedicated her life to her family and community. She is survived by her daughter, Dawn Eldredge (John), her son, Luke Eichbauer (Rose); and her son, Darrin Richeson (Claire). Janice was a nurturing mother who always ensured her children began their day with a warm breakfast and a smile. She also leaves behind 15 beloved grandchildren, whom she adored, ensuring that each felt equally loved and valued.
Beyond her role as a homemaker, Janice contributed to the Salt Lake City School District, where her impact was felt throughout the community. She was known for her fun-loving spirit and was a friendly, supportive neighbor. Family trips to Hawaii and California, along with fishing adventures, created cherished memories that will last a lifetime. In her later years, she found immense joy in the support of her grandson, Ethan.
Janice's friendships were also a significant part of her life. For a decade, she and her girlfriends met every Wednesday at 5 PM to enjoy dinner, drinks, and laughter. In honor of these wonderful moments, the “Old Broads Gang” will raise a 5 PM wine toast to Janice.
Janice and Steve were active members of the Independent Order of Foresters (IOF) for many years, and enjoyed several years of bowling leagues, further showcasing their commitment to community and family.
A celebration of Janice's life will be on Friday, September 13 from 6-8 PM at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests donations be made to a charity of your choice. Janice Eichbauer will be deeply missed, and her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

Janice will always be remembered and she was so fun to be around. We had alot of laughs with Steve and Janice. We went to the fish restruant in Sugar House for fish dinners quite a bit. We had really good laughs with them there. One day I said to them that I really did not like fish and Steve said he did not either, boy did we ever have a good laugh on that one. We were just going to visit with each other and have fun. Janice was a good person and now she will have a great time with Steve and laugh with him. We wil miss her alot, she was a wonderful person.
