Jared Ryan Tolley

October 2, 1973 - January 8, 2024

Our beloved Jared Ryan Tolley, age 50, suddenly passed away on January 8, 2024. The loss of Jared is completely unexpected, our family is profoundly saddened, however his fierce love and gentle spirit will always be felt by his family and friends.

Jared was born on October 2, 1973, in Bountiful Utah to his proud parents Michael and Janice (VanTussenbrook) Tolley. Jared is one of 4 boys. Jared followed his father into the industry of plumbing obtaining his Journeyman Plumbers license, working as a plumber starting with A&B Mechanical and finished with Snow Peak Plumbing until his untimely passing.

Jared was fun loving, and a passionate man. He was an excellent cook and loved fine foods; he enjoyed fishing, camping, jeeping in Moab with family, and watching sports with his brothers, especially his beloved basketball team the Utah Jazz and Utah Utes Football.

Jared’s most treasured accomplishment and joy is his daughter Aria. Jared was excited to be a father; she was his world. As devoted father there wasn’t a soccer game, dance recital, or school event he wouldn’t be there for her. They are father and daughter forever connected strongly and now invisibly as fishing line.

Jared was preceded in death by Grandparents, Doug and Vesta Tolley, Tuss and Carol VanTussenbrook and Uncle Craig Tolley. He is survived by his daughter Aria, His parents Mike and Janice Tolley, his brothers Michael J (Kimberley), Marshall (Desiree), Dallas (Missy), His nieces and nephews, Katherine, Kayleigh, Emma, Mia, Mason, Milena, Cohen, Alivia, Jack, His beloved friend Gin, aunts, uncles, cousins, and his dog Zoe.

We will cherish the memories and hold them in our hearts, Jared is now fishing the shores we cannot see, until we meet again. Love you Jare

A celebration of life will be on Friday, February 9, 2024 from 6-8 PM at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt lake City. Guests are encouraged to use parking and entrance located on the north side of the building.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Jared Ryan Tolley Memorial Fund at America First Credit Union, the funds will be utilized for Aria’s care and future.

The family will spread his ashes at his favorite place in Moab, Copper Ridge at a future date.

In Loving Memory

Dear Jenifer and Aria, I am so sad for your loss.  I did not know Jared hardly at all, but he had to have a lot of good in him in order to have such a beautiful, sweet daughter.  I love you both so much.  You are in my thoughts and prayers.  I am here for you if you need anything.

I was so sad to learn of Jared's unexpected passing. The video and obituary commemorating his life were so moving in describing Jared who was a fun-loving man who took his responsibilities seriously and enjoyed life tremendously. I regret I cannot attend his celebration of life on the 9th because I live too far away. My heart is sad for Janice and Mike and all the family. Much love to them, Scott O.
