Jay Buck Longhurst
A Tough Old Cowboy

Our husband, dad and grandpa took his sweet ol' time and passed away peacefully on January 8, 2013.

He was born March 16, 1935 in Woodruff, UT to Clyde "Joe" and Vilate Longhurst. He graduated from BYU with a BA and was then drafted to serve his country in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany. He married Barbara Perkins in June of 1975. Jay worked for the Federal Government for 25 years. He loved hunting, fishing and baseball hats. Jay was a simple, private person.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters Cheryl Henderson, Lauri (Shayne) Robison, Misty Miller; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and sister Lana (GR) Peart.

A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, January 10th at 2:00 PM at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East 10600 South, Sandy. Friends may call upon the family from 12:00 Noon until 1:30 PM at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Alta Ridge for taking such great care of Jay.
