A life well-lived, Jean was a devoted mother, loving grandmother, beloved spouse, a cherished friend, and a cancer survivor. Her kind heart and generous spirit touched countless lives, and her sense of humor and ability to connect with people made her charming and warm to be around. With a warm smile and a genuine interest in others, she effortlessly brightened the lives of those around her. Whether it was a well-timed joke or a thoughtful gesture, Jean had a way of making people feel valued and appreciated.
Beyond her magnetic personality, Jean was known for her unbridled wit, occasional irreverent humor, unwavering support and encouragement of others. She was a source of strength and inspiration to her family and friends, always ready to lend a helping hand, offer words of wisdom, or share some laughs over coffee. She loved playing high stakes $2 Pinochle games with her longtime friends. Her love for life was infectious, and she taught those around her to embrace each moment with joy and gratitude.
Erma Jean Edmunds was born in Spring City, Utah on June 24, 1939 to Jay and Erma Edmunds. She met and married the love of her life, Gilbert Kissell, in Salt Lake City. Jean and Gilbert were married on January 15, 1957 and spent a lifetime building a loving family. Throughout her life she was dedicated to crafts, sewing, and generously; sharing her talents with others.
Jean’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind. Her legacy of love, her contagious laughter, and meaningful connections will continue to impact future generations. May she rest in peace, knowing that her time on this earth was spent making it a better, brighter place for everyone fortunate enough to have known her.
She is survived by her children, Cindy Lewis ( Lane), Jon Kissell (Judith), and Kristi and her loving grandchildren Dylan Lewis, Kyle Kissell, Kurtis Kissell and Kenneth Kissell. Her brother Jay Edmunds (NaDene) several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by Jay (Pal) Edmunds, Erma Edmunds, Her sister Patsy Musson, and her beloved Gilbert.
A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, August 9 at 11:00 at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City, where friends may view and visit with her family one hour prior. Interment to follow the funeral at Mountain View Memorial Estates, 3115 East 7800 South, Cottonwood Heights. Social gathering will follow at her home for family and friends.
