Jeanette Gillman
May 8, 1949 - January 20, 2025
Jeanette Gillman, 75, of Salt Lake City, Utah, passed away peacefully after a grueling fight with pneumonia on January 20, 2025. She was surrounded by her loving family. She was Born on May 8, 1949, to Herbert LaGrant and Donna Marian (Carpenter) Wright.
Jeanette married Kenneth L, Peterson on November 20, 1969. They had three children, Denise, Marie, and Alicia. Ken passed away on October 12, 1987. Jeanette married Larry B. Gillman on October 13, 1995.
Jeanette was known for her loyal, spirited, and nurturing disposition. She attended Murray High School, class of 1967. She dedicated 20+ years to SkyWest Airlines, and as a benefit of her employment, enjoyed traveling with her devoted husband Larry. They visited Finland, Paris, and Hawaii, among many other wonderful places making memories that Larry will cherish forever.
She was a stunt driver in her brother-in-law’s auto daredevil show, performing in shows all over the country. Jeanette also enjoyed line dancing and bowling in a league with her sister-in-law, Becky. One of her biggest passions was golf. She played for many years in the Fore Lakes Ladies Golf League with her sister, Carolyn, and several friends. One of her favorite things was enjoying ‘date day’ every Thursday with her husband, Larry, going golfing and finishing the day at American Legion Post 112.
Jeanette is preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Kenneth L. Peterson; brothers, Bradford A. Wright, Clinton R. Wright, & Raleigh M. Wright; sister, Suzanne A. Jones; granddaughter, Cheyenne M. Adams; and brothers-in-law, Olie Anderson & Edwin Swanke.
She is survived by her husband, Larry B. Gillman; daughters, Denise Peterson, Marie Peterson, & Alicia Peterson; stepchildren, Lynnette Sasaki, LeAnn Hallock, Wendy Ford, & Terry Gillman; brother, Gilbert B. (Becky) Wright; sisters, Joyce (Olie) Anderson, Carolyn (Steve) Brierley, Debby (Steve) Bertoch, Paula (Ed) Swanke, & Jennifer Johnston as well as many loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life for Jeanette will be held Saturday, February 8th, 2025, from 6-8pm at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 S 900 E, Salt Lake City, Utah, 84106. Guests are encouraged to use the parking lot and entrance located on the north side of the building.
