Jeff Stanley Peterson

March 25, 1958 - January 12, 2025

Our beloved father and grandfather, Jeff Stanley Peterson, born March 25, 1958, passed away unexpectedly on January 12, 2025, after a brief struggle with stage 4 cancer. A kind and tender-hearted man, with just a touch of stubborn curmudgeon, Jeff was surrounded by loved ones throughout his final weeks.
Jeff was a fair and devoted father to his three children and a proud grandfather to his three beautiful grandchildren. He cherished time spent with family and friends, always ready for adventure, and was known for his playful, spirited, and creative nature. A passionate reader and lover of stories and lore, Jeff’s extensive collection of books and movies reflected his lifelong interest in exploring new worlds and narratives. He was equally passionate about classic rock, chocolate, root beer, and Gaelic culture. His love of music, along with his love for books and films, profoundly influenced his children and grandchildren, leaving a lasting legacy of curiosity, imagination, and a deep appreciation for the power of storytelling.
We are deeply heartbroken by his passing and miss him more than words can express.
A celebration of life will be on Friday, February 7, 2025 from 6-8 at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Millcreek. Guests are encouraged to use parking and entrance located on the north side of the building.  For attire, keep it classy but relaxed – no ties needed nor is this a Grateful Dead show (though Jeff was a huge fan). Think smart casual: Birkenstocks welcome, but leave the cargo shorts at home.

Given the unexpected nature of his passing, in lieu of flowers, please consider contributing to the GoFundMe account his children have set up to assist with funeral expenses and financial responsibilities toward his estate.

We are incredibly grateful for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time. His spirit will remain with us always.

In Loving Memory

Jeff always made you feel good and welcome. When you’d walk in the room he’d smile and stand up to hug you. I know he tried very hard to be a good dad and a good grandpa. He is someone I will always remember. My love to Doris Cindy and jeff jr.

Uncle Jeff really loved his family members and always made an effort to engage us in light-hearted conversation which I appreciated.
