Jeffery James Jones
August 15, 1958 - September 2, 2017
Jeffery James was born August 15, 1958. Jeff meant so much to so many. He was our son, brother, husband, father, papa and friend. Jeff was taken far too soon. He passed away September 2, 2017 at home surrounded by his family, who adored him. For the past 15 months, Jeff courageously fought Multifocal Glioblastoma, the most aggressive form of brain cancer. This changed Jeff's life but not the way he lived it.
This was Jeff, when watching a funny movie it was funnier to watch him, he laughed so hard he cried! His laugh was contagious. He had the most amazing smile! His sense of humor was one of his greatest gifts and if he teased you, you knew he loved you. Jeff was selfless, kind and compassionate. He loved people not things. Jeff was always helping others. He talked less and listened more. He asked and really wanted to know "how are you doing?" He didn't make anything about him….even when it was. He was hard working and humble. He loved to walk, run, bike and hike in nature. He loved animals, all people and never judged anyone.
Jeff grew up just houses away from Lezlee Porritt. They fell in love and married in 1980. Theirs was a true love story. Their playful, adoring, and committed bond has been an inspiration and felt by everyone around them. What defined a beautiful life for Jeff was his family! Their love continued to multiply through the birth of their three children. Being a dad and spending time with his kids was the joy of his life. His love of family grew to another level when his grandchildren Brooks (3) and Willow (1) were born. He loved every second of every day with them.
Jeff was an old soul, he had intuition and wisdom. He offered insight and comfort to us and others. Jeff, thank you for inspiring us every day, being our example and teaching us to "Find Your Joy", how to love and live! You will be sorely missed but you will live on in our hearts forever.
Jeff is in very good company now with his Grandma "Nanny," Grandpa "Gramps," and Mother-in-law, Marie. Jeff had very special relationships with all of them and no doubt they are having a good time up there together.
Jeff is survived by his parents Arthur James "Jim" and JoAnn "Johnnye" Jones; wife, Lezlee Marie Jones; children Taeler J.(Kendal) Beazer, Tavish J. Jones, Teague R. Jones; grandchildren Brooks K. Beazer, Willow J. Beazer; brother and best friend, Jerry (Pat) Jones; siblings Jennifer (Rob) Kendall, Justin (Jen) Jones, Jami (Steve) Jerman, and Jimmie (Alli) Jones; and sisters-in-law Troylin (Mark) Hill and Heidi (Lindsay) Familar.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Jeff's beautiful life on Saturday, September 23, 2017 with an open house from 5:00 – 6:30 PM followed by a service and a watching of the sunset from 6:30 – 7:30 PM at Lezlee's home, 3882 South Monach Dr., Bountiful, Utah 84010. Guests are encouraged to wear casual and warm clothes (yellow is his favorite color).
In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Musella Foundation.
In Loving Memory
Dear Jones Family So sorry to hear about JEFF. Your family has always had a special place in my heart. I do remember Jeff's laugh while he was on the couch hanging out with his sister's friends. I'm so grateful that I knew him and was a part of your amazing family growing up. I am grateful for our Saviors atonement for us and I know we will see Jeff again because of his sacrifice. It's terrible to loose someone you love so much. Sorry I can't make it Saturday but I'll be thinking of you. Love SHELLEY

Our family grew up across the street from the Jones' and I remember Jeff fondly, what a nice guy and "old soul" defines him perfectly. My parents and I send our condolences to the family and to Lezlee and their children. Gone too soon but never forgotten.

I am deeply saddened to hear that one of my childhood friends has passed. I cherish the very fond memories I have of playing in that huge sandbox your family had. My heartfelt condolences to you all.
