Jerry D. Neff
January 17, 1959 - February 27, 2024
Our sweet Jerry passed away peacefully on February 27, 2024.
He was born to Leland Neff and Esther Petrarca Neff in Cottonwood Heights, UT. Jerry worked as a Regional Maintenance Engineer for Washington Federal, Henries Dry Cleaners and recently retired from Kohls Department stores.
Jerry was an avid outdoorsman and fished his entire life, he lived for it! He was known for his pristine yard and could be found digging in the dirt even if there was snow on the ground. He was a gourmet chef and loved cooking for everyone, especially on holidays.
Jerry was kind, handsome and generous. He would lend a hand to anyone in need.
He leaves behind his wife, Angela Carras, children Jessica Jacobs and Chad Neff, and 6 grandchildren, sisters Patti (Dave) Jaynes, Sues Hansen, his Nouna Connie Pavlicas, mother in law Mary, brothers in- law Van Carras and Jack Arveseth, sister- in- law Shallyn Smith, many nieces and nephews, Linda Neff and his favorite fishing friend Dave Crane. He also leaves behind his beautiful Labrador Ginger.
Special thanks to Applegate Home Health.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday March 4, 2024 at 11:00 AM, at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 279 South 300 West, Salt Lake City, Utah.
He will be laid to rest following mass at Mount Olivet Cemetery, 1342 East 500 South, Salt Lake City.
We love you, Jerry!

Dear Angela and family, Jerry was one of the very best men I have ever had the honor to know, and Virgil and I are completely heartbroken over his passing. He will be missed by us beyond measure. He had a tremendous influence on my son Adam, as a mentor and a father figure, and helped him to become the man he is today. His giant smile and genuine welcome always made you know how much he loved you. There was never a favor he didn't eagerly help with, and his patience with untangling a fishing line "cluster" was BOUNDLESS. He was the truest friend, the gentlest soul and the fiercest protector of those he loved, especially his Angela. The world has lost, and heaven has gained, a gentleman, a maverick, a loyal husband and devoted father and grandfather, a gift of a friend and a very bright light.

Jerry was one of the best men I know. He was kind, and sweet. He made the best enchiladas and had the prettiest yard. But what I loved the most about Jerry was his fierce love for his wife Angela. A true love story to the end. You will be missed my friend! Fly high!

Dear Angela, Sues (Diane), Patty and Family Our entire family was so shocked to hear about Jerry. He was such a special cousin even though he was younger than most of us. He was so excited when he heard that I started hunting in my late 60's and was successful. He was quick to praise people and always generous. He will be missed dearly by our entire family, Gloria, Claudia, LaNell, and Scott (who was the closest cousin in age in our family). May God hold all of you in His arms until you are all reuninted. Love Gloria and Dave

Jerry Neff, a Master of all trades. A man of Passionate Devotion. And, the best damned fisherman that there has ever lived. And, that is saying lot because, his Dad and his brother Terry were pretty good at it, too! I will miss you my brother, much more than you will ever know! I am so lucky to have been able to tell you some of these things, to have shared our many fun times together and, to have loved you like a brother. My, my, my! So many kind and thoughtful things are being said about you, here. I know that you would react to (all of) these with some kind of a joke, that would bring down the house, with gut-busting laughter! That is just who you were. So humble, so matter-of-fact and so danged funny! Your smile was so contagious, your heart so genuine! And, your Love of Angela was unmatched. I know this because, I had to drive you (more than ten miles) to the top of Fish Lake Mountain, in a torrential downpour, so that you could, "...hear my wifes voice and know that she is ok." I am left to 'carry the mantel' now, it seems. I will fish on in your memory, me Amigo! Say hello to the guys for me and tell them, "He will be along, he just wants to catch one more." God Bless You, Always Dave Crane

I am so sorry that you have lost such a special man. I can remember the wonderful times we shared with our Petrarca family at Aunt Esther's backyard, with all the good food, and having fun with all of our cousins. Jerry was younger than all of us, but i remember his smile and "cute" face. My heart knows your pain and my prayers will be with you and your family. Remember the good times, it helps with the sorrow of losing him. Sending love to all of you!! May the Love and comfort of God carry you through.

I am so beyond sorry that this happened to Jerry and to you Angela. Your love story has always inspired me! I will never forget Jerry being the one I called when I was buying my first new car. I kept saying I wasn't sure and he said "Do you love it?" And that's all it took. I'll also treasure the times I got to sit on your back deck in "Jerry's flower garden." So peaceful and beautiful. May you always feel his love my friend and mine as well!

Angela, I just heard the news today. My heart is breaking for you and your family. Jerry seemed like the sweetest, most giving man, what a legacy he leaves. I've always admired the love you both share, one of envy. I hope you feel him near everyday, for I have no doubt he'll be your forever angel. You are in my prayers and thoughts. Love you so much.
