Jerzy Michalowicz

March 20, 1937 - September 21, 2016

Jerzy (George) Michalowicz passed away on Wednesday, September 21st, 2016 in Murray, UT after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease, and complications from blood clots. He is survived by his wife of 40 years Malgorzata, and two children, Magda and Jakub. His sister, Ewa, as well as extended family, still live in Poland.

George was born in Warsaw, Poland on March 20th, 1937. He graduated from Warsaw Technical University in 1960 with a degree in Electronics. His passion for his work brought him to the United States in 1977 where he worked at National/Fairchild Semiconductor as an Electronic Engineer for 28 years. He was awarded the Exceptional Performance Award in 1999, and Key Technologist Class of 2002 and 2005.

In his personal life, George was a dedicated family man who loved to go camping with his family, and spend time in the outdoors. George visited every national park in the Western US and loved to ski in Utah. George also loved to travel, having visited France, Italy, Scotland, Mexico, Russia, and the Czech Republic. In his younger years, he loved to dance, with a fondness for jazz and Big Band music. He was quiet and reserved to most, but loyal, generous, warm, and funny to those that knew and loved him.

Funeral service will be at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Cottonwood Heights, UT on Wednesday, September 28th at 11:00am, followed by a reception.
