Jesse D. Porter (JD)

May 3, 1942 - January 9, 2014

Jesse D. Porter (JD) our loving husband, dad and grandpa passed away on January 9, 2014 at the age of 71.

Jesse was born in Palisade, Colorado, on May 3, 1942 to John and May Jewel Porter. This is where he met the love of his life, Carolyn (Micky) Porter of 47 years.  They were married and shortly after moved to Salt Lake City, Utah where Jesse worked and retired from Kennecott Copper.

Jesse was an accomplished craftsman with a fine eye for detail and received great satisfaction from building and creating masterpieces, especially for his five (5) grandchildren.

Jesse also had an amazing sense of humor and enjoyed making people laugh.  He was loving, supportive and always put others first.

His strong will, intelligence and keen sense of humor, coupled with a heart larger than life was a picture of a man that we all loved so much and will miss dearly.

Jesse loved sports of all kinds and was tried and true to his Denver Broncos.  He was the biggest fan to his five (5) grandchildren in all their endeavors, including football, hockey, swimming, soccer, dance and lacrosse.  He was always there and loved every minute.

Jesse is survived by his wife of 47 years, Micky and their children: Senta and Craig Beyer and their three children Jessi, Brayden and Chase; Britt and Kevin Templin and their children Porter and Haile; brothers Dick Porter, Jack Porter and amazing big sister Sally Porter.

Jesse had a special place in his heart for animals, especially his dogs.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Best Friends Animal Society: https://secure.bestfriends.org/page/contribute/memory in Jesse’s name.

WE LOVE YOU DAD, GRANDPA, JD, JESSE…………WE LOVE YOU.

J.D. and I were classmates in junior high at Palisade. We were teammates in basketball, football, and track. I regret not getting time to talk over old times with him before it was too late. My best to the family.

Dear Mick, I was saddened this morning to just now learn of Jesse passing. Jesse and I had more laughs and grins together when you lived at Canyon Place. Jesse was a kind, mellow and gentle soul. I know Grady is sitting up next to him and they are both having a blast! Jesse was one of the better guys on this planet! My thoughts are with you. Coby Regehr
