Jesse J. Owen
July 26, 1986 - January 17, 2017
Our loving husband, father, son, grandson, brother, uncle and friend passed away the morning of January 17, 2017 at home.
He was born July 26, 1986 in Salt Lake City, UT to Rick Owen and Gail Wayman. Jesse graduated from Copper Hills High School and Salt Lake Community College and earned his Bachelors from Utah State. Jesse adopted a black lab/australian shepherd mix, Milo, who became the son he hadn’t yet had. Jesse married his best friend Brittany Stewart on April 10, 2015 on the beaches of Australia. Jesse’s world revolved around his son, his mini-me, Dominic, who was born premature on October 23, 2015, which led to a year of hospital visits and many ups and downs. This difficult time became his greatest blessing. Jesse had a very big heart and loved to coach football for Jordan Little Leagues and loved watching the Utes. His personality was one of a kind. He was always willing to help family friends to the point where he would forget about himself. His personality filled the room. If there was a line, he would cross it and keep running.
He is survived by his wife Brittany; his son Dominic; parents Rick Owen and Gail (Willard) Wayman; siblings Chasity (David) Sandoval, Richard (Amber) Owen; step-siblings Kristi Wayman, Kathryn Leerskov, Daniel Wayman, Carly Whitaker; in-laws Kerry and Marie Stewart; grandparents Josephine & Eddie Springer; nephews Bradley, Christian, Riley, Devon, Bridger; along with many uncles, aunts and cousins; and his beloved canine friend Milo.
Viewing will be held on Monday, January 23rd from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 4501 West 5215 South, Kearns, where a vigil service will begin at 7:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 24th at 1:00 PM, also at the church, where a viewing will be held one hour prior.
