Jessica Marie Chavez

January 23, 1989 - June 22, 2016

Our loving mother, daughter, sister and friend returned to heaven surrounded by friends and family at home in West Jordan on June 22, 2016 after a long battle with Lupus.
Jessica was born on Jan. 23rd 1989 to Leslie Montano and Isabel Chavez in Salt Lake City. She was the youngest of 3 children, and narrowly escaped being named "Mexico."

She was an amazing friend to many, and had a heart of gold. She always knew what to say to bring a smile to your face, and make you feel better about the things you were going through. The thing she loved most in this world was being a mother to her 3 children, not only was she their mother but also their best friend. We know that she is in heaven reunited with her brother and protector Stephen, and that they are watching over us. She touched so many lives with her joy and laughter, and she will be truly missed by all of them.

She is survived by her parents Leslie and Isabel, and her three amazing children Daniel (8) Leonardo (5) and Amelia (11 months), her brother Matt, and her nephew Michael. She is preceded in death by her brother Stephen Chavez.

A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, July 1st from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City. Complimentary valet parking provided on the north side of the building. Online condolences may be offered at www.starksfuneral.com

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at the University of Utah MICU, for their care and support for Jessica during her illness.

I was blessed to have met Jessica in middle school and call her a friend. We had lost contact during high school, but soon found each other on facebook. I always enjoyed seeing her posts about her beautiful children and how happy she was. I will think of her often and I wish the best for her family and close friends going through this loss of a truly beautiful human being.

I never got to meet Jessica but I know Josh loved her with all his heart. He is really broken up that he was not able to make it to say goodbye. RIH Jessica and look after those babies. You are their guardian angel now.
