Joan and I go clear back to Miss Rappaport's type class in 9th grade at Roosevelt Jr. High. We were always in trouble for talking because she sat right behind me. We ran into each on occassions through out our careers, me on on SLCPD and UHP. She was really a wonderful person and will be missed by her family and close friends. It was a real honor to know her and have her as a friend. Norm Steen Sandy, Utah

My deepest condolences to the family, I worked with Joanie for many years at the County, but we had a special friendship, she grew up with my Father who is a retired SLPD, and my Mother who also retired from The Sheriffs office, we did enjoy bus trips down the way 🙏🏾 🙏🏾🙏🏾 I will miss her realistic point of view !!!

My deepest sympathies to the family and friends. Death at any age is difficult. May you find comfort in the words found at 1 Corinthians 15:26. It says: And the last enemy, death, is to be brought to nothing. And Hosea 13:14 says "From the power of the Grave I will redeem them; From death I will recover them." A wonderful promise from Jehovah God who cannot lie.
