Jody June Wallwork
OGDEN – In the early morning hours of what would be a beautiful spring day, we entrusted one of our best into the arms of the angels waiting to carry her home. Surrounded by close family members, Jody June Wallwork, 57, passed away at the University of Utah Hospital in Salt Lake City from complications of a stroke.
Jody was born in Ogden on November 14, 1954 to Doyle and June Wallwork. She grew up in Ogden surrounded by her loving siblings Michele, Dave, Chris, Rich and Nick.
Jody attended Bonneville High School. After later receiving her diploma, she also attended what is now Ogden-Weber Applied Technology College.
Jody loved her family and her relationships with them were the most important things in her life. In addition to her siblings, she had close relationships with her cousins, especially Kathryn and Len Mumma. Loving every child she met, Jody was very close to her many nieces and nephews. Her two lifelong friends Diane Hadley and Fonda Olson had become so close over the years that they must surely be counted as family. Jody loved creating beautiful scrapbooks to honor her family, and she loved to sew and knit.
Jody had a lovely personality, always making friends wherever she went. Her natural charisma touched friends, co-workers and customers in the jobs she held, including her favorites at Hilltop Lanes in Ogden, the 7-11 Store in North Ogden, and Ogden-area Walmart stores. She was truly in her element when surrounded by many people, who frequently became her close friends.
While spending the last few years in Vernal with her fiancé, Wayne Allen, Jody met her devoted hand-in-glove friend, Marty Coonradt. She and Jody spent countless hours together, and Marty was always there for her. Jody was an active member of the Vernal 2nd Ward of the L.D.S. Church.
Jody, we will keep the memory of you in our hearts forever. We will carry the image of your wide smile and the sound of your laugh with us all of our days. We hope that you've carried the light of our love with you. We will miss you, and though we would never willingly give you up, it is with love, hope, and a burning wish for peace that we send you into the arms of those who have gone before you, knowing that they will catch you and carry you into paradise.
Jody is survived by brother Nick (Alice) Wallwork of Charlottesville, Virginia; sister-in-law Debi Wallwork of Ogden; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Doyle and June Rose Wallwork; her sister Michele W. Talbot; and her brothers Dave, Chris and Rich Wallwork.
Services will be held Thursday, April 19, 2012, at 11:00 AM, at the Orchard Park Ward of the L.D.S. Church, located at 3270 Orchard Ave., in Ogden, Utah. The services will be followed immediately by a Celebration of Jody’s Life by family and friends. A private interment will follow later at Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park.
In Loving Memory
Nick and Family, I just wanted you to know that we are surely going to miss Jody. She had a bright light shining in her that can never be forgotten. We loved her and we love and care about you and your family. May God bless you and comfort you all during the difficult time. Love, cousin Cheryl

Nick and family, I was shocked when my mom called me last night and read me your sisters obituary. I am so sorry for your loss and that I couldn't be there for you. I'm thinking of you. God bless you! Love, Kathy

I worked with Jody for many years at the Riverdale Walmart. Jody had a sweet spirit about her. Even though her struggles were many she still shined. I was deeply sorry to hear of her passing. My nephew was being laid to rest at the same time or I would have attended her funeral. My prayers are with her family.

you know what Holden's probably into at 2 years old? Cake. Whether it has Lightning McQueen on it or a Milton Glaser degsin, his thought process probably went something like Does it taste good? Check. Am I allowed to smash it in my face and possibly throw it at my friends? Check. Is everybody at this party because of me? Check. AWESOME!!!! Two thumbs up, Holden's parents.
