Jody Lynn Pease
August 13, 1975 - November 12, 2021
Jody “Toad” Pease, our “pocket full of sunshine” passed away unexpectedly in her sleep at her home in West Jordan on November 12, 2021. She was born August 13, 1975 to Merlyn Bruce and Diana Lynn Pease (Volz). Jody was raised in Holladay, attended Holladay
Elementary and later moved to Cottonwood Heights, Utah where she graduated from Brighton High School. Jody married Jeremy Barnes in 1997, later divorced. She married Scott Forbes in 2004, later divorced. At the time of her passing, Jody had found love and acceptance with Eric Eatmon.
Jody was an accomplished and cherished manager, an extremely organized and talented person capable of tackling and solving difficult problems. She worked for many years in management for Contempo Ceramic Tile and most recently for Reams Grocery Store in West Jordan where she developed many deep friendships. Jody was an accomplished seamstress, crafter, and enjoyed fishing and watching cooking shows. Some of her favorite memories were of time spent with Grandma and Grandpa Pease at Camp Strawberry.
Jody was the light of any party and always took time to tell you that she loved you. She was the aunt that would give the loudest and most obnoxious gifts to her nieces and nephews, just as a reminder to the parents that “she was there” and to “think of her”.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents Floyd H. and Verona J. Pease, Francis Wayne and LaRene Volz, aunt Susan Barnes, and uncle Floyd “Butch” Pease.
Jody is loved and survived by her parents Bruce and Diana, siblings Richard (Shannon) Pease, Merlyn J. (Deena) Pease, Andrew Pease, Kathryn M. Pease, and dear friend and love Eric Eatmon, nieces and nephews Gavin, Marshall, Gabriel, Emily, Addison, Brighton, and Cameron.
Jody unapologetically lived life and loved deeply on her own terms. She is cherished, loved, and respected by so many, and she will be greatly missed and always remembered.
There will be a celebration of her life on Saturday, December 11, 2021 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Christmas Box House, a short-term crisis shelter for children and teens.

Rich, Shannon and family, I have not seen Jody in a very long time but the impression she made on me is huge. She was smart, beautiful, confident and fun to be around. I loved how she would smile at me everytime she had to come down from her office to fix the mistake I made on the computer. Happy always happy. I am so sorry for your loss. Sending love to you and your family. Rest in peace Jody. Love Bev
