Beloved husband, brother, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, uncle, cousin and friend, John Lee Handy, Jr., 76, of West Jordan, Utah transitioned from this life on December 30, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer.
John was born February 27, 1949, to John L. Handy, Sr. and Annie Morris Handy in Shreveport, Louisiana. He was a retired log-haul trucker who dedicated over 25 years to his career. He had a deep appreciation for the simple joys in life. Whether enjoying a relaxing day at home cheering on his favorite football team, or spending time with family and friends, cruising or traveling to other countries, he cherished every moment.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his sister, Louise Lane, and his son, Tracy Handy. His memory will be cherished by his devoted wife of 17 years, Marsha Boyd, his sons Anthony Handy and Patrick Hodges, his daughters, Shannon Campbell and Adrian Hodges, his sister, Thelma Handy, 15 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A celebration of life in honor of John will be at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Millcreek, Utah on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Guests are encouraged to park on the north side of the building.
Funeral service to follow the next day, Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at Starks Funeral Parlor. Viewing from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM, service starting at 11:00 AM.
