Jolene D. Nelson

May 31, 1946 - November 4, 2024

Our beloved Jolene D. Nelson was born on May 31, 1946 in Panguitch, Utah to Dale and Mary Alice Dickinson. She was one of 7 children. She later moved to Granger, Utah. She married Gary Wade Nelson in 1967. They had two children: Michelle Adell in July, 1966 and Ryan Gary in October 1972. She loved her children with all her heart. When her grandchildren were born, she was even happier. She was the one thing holding everything together for everybody. She was the backbone for many! She was a very strong, special, kind, helpful, beautiful person all the way around. Her beautiful smiles, funny laugh, touch… She was a beautiful soul. She touched the lives of many and she will be missed so much.

Jolene was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Wade Nelson; her parents, Dale and Mary Alice Dickinson; her grandson, Cody Nelson. She is survived by her daughter, Michelle Adell Nelson; her son, Ryan Gary Nelson; her granddaughters, Stevie and Lacey Nelson and many, many great-grandchildren.

She touched many and will be missed dearly.

A memorial service will be on Monday, November 11 from 1-3 PM at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City, Utah.

Aunt Jolene, The last time we talked on the phone, back in June, the sound of your voice made my heart feel like home! You were a strong and brave woman and I have always loved you, I believe you and Uncle Gary are embracing and slow dancing in the clouds. (Maybe while listening to the great legends of country, some Johnny Cash & George Jones) I have many fond memories from my childhood, of spending time with you, out at the gun club and at Grandma & Grandpa Nelson’s house, Hunting trips and family reunions, and you were always a watchful eye to keep us kids in line and trying to keep us safe, kept a few of us from getting hit by the train out at the gun range, as we put pennies on the tracks! You were the rock of the Nelson Family and I will always remember you fondly and with love, Until we meet again, Aunt Jolene I’d love to think you’re still keeping us safe in the way only Angels can do! God Speed ❤️
