Jon Randall Henstrom

January 25, 1943 - June 19, 2016

Jon Randall Henstrom
"Randy"

Our loving husband, father, grandpa, brother and friend passed away on June 19, 2016 in West Jordan, Ut. Randy was born to Golden and Elaine Croper Henstrom on January 25, 1943. He received a degree in drafting from TradeTec/SLCC.

Randy had a honorable discharge from the US Navy in 1971. He came home from his service in Vietnam and joined his brother and father in the family business, Henstrom Generator. He married his Miss B, Marsha Bergener on December 30, 1970 in Salt Lake City.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years Marsha; children Catherine (Richard), Jon Robert (Amber); grandsons Seth, Danner and Britton; his brother Scot Alan (Barbara); and Gunner (the dog); along with many nephews, nieces and adoptees into the family. He was preceded in death by his father Golden; mother Elaine; and brother Tom.

Catherine and Robbie's dad had a very quirky of center sense of humor and could riff on things forever. His love of adventure led the family on a series of "trips". The favorite thing to ask was "I wonder where this road goes. Randy passed along his laughter, knowledge of cars and their electrical systems and a sense of a "job done right the first time".  Lest we forget he loved the Seattle Seahawks. This year we will make sure to add our cheers to the team.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, June 28th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City. Memorial services will take place at a later date.

Marsha,I was surprised and saddened to hear of Randy's death as kids,.I remember how much I loved playing with his trains. I got dolls for Christmas and he got cool train cars and engines. May your sweet memories of your life together ease the pain of his passing.
