Jonathan McKay Bowers

September 29, 1979 - May 30, 2011

Jonathan McKay Bowers

Beloved Son & Brother

Jonathan returned to Heavenly Father on May 30, 2011 due to a sudden accident.

Our son was the first of three children, born September 29, 1979 in Provo, Utah.  He served a mission in Montreal, Canada Mission.  Jonathan was going to school for Emergency Management Planning at the U while employed by Gold Cross as an EMT. He loved all sports including hockey and BYU football.  He loved camping, something we did often as a family growing up.  He had a tender heart and was very considerate of others.  He did for others without hesitation and without complaint.  He was respected and loved by all who knew him.

He leaves behind his parents, Judi and John Bowers; sister, Petra (Ken) Martindale and their children Brooke and Jared; sister Samantha (Travis) Koch and their son Logan; maternal grandparents Gill and Elsie Rowland; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Preceded in death by his paternal grandparents.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, June 4th at 11:00 at the Prairie 6th Ward, 5154 West 7000 South, West Jordan, where friends may call upon the family one hour prior to the service.   Interment to follow at Provo City Cemetery.

True to his giving and selfless nature, his organs were donated to save the lives of others.

In Loving Memory

May you always feel Jonathan's presence around each of you, as you continue your life here. Your family has been in my thoughts and prayers....

I knew Jonathan as a pre-teen in Saskatoon Saskatchewan. I haven't seen him for year, however I often wondered how the family was doing. This was shocking news, to say the least. May God bless the family, and know that he is with his Heavenly Father again. His earthly is complete and I think the world was likely a better place with him here.

Jon was my student at the University of Utah. He was a very nice person and a fine student. I am so very sorry for your loss. I am deeply saddened by Jon's death and I know his fellow students and teachers feel the same way. I pray that you will be comforted and blessed during this very difficult time.

I worked with Jonathan on occasion and I am sorry to hear of your loss. He was a kind and proficient EMT and helped a lot of people when they needed him the most. Good luck - our thoughts and prayers are with you.

I knew Jon from the singles ward. He was always so nice. I never heard him say a bad thing about anyone. What a great example he was to myself and others around him. I am so sorry for your loss. I know that he is watching and comforting over your family at this time. He will truly be missed by everyone.

Dear John and Judi, So sorry to hear of the tragedy that has come into your lives. It sound as though Jonathon had thoroughly lived up to his Biblical name in being a good friend and of service to others. I called Ellen last night for her to tell Uncle Ted about the funeral this morning. We all sen our deepest love and condolences and will remember you in our prayers. Just look and what a grand reception awaits him on the other side of the veil to introduce him to his past relatives and friends. I know it's a difficult time for those left behind but trust in the Lord and He alone can comfort your souls. We all love you Aunt Camilla's family and Uncle Ted's family share your grief and sorrow.
