Jordan MacKenzie Simpson
March 20, 1991 – September 4, 2015

On September 4th Jordan succumbed to injuries suffered in a head on collision on SR-32 on August 28, 2015.

Jordan was the son of Harold Simpson and Jeanne (Phillips) Simpson of Salt Lake City.  He is also survived by his beautiful daughter RayAnne Marie Simpson of Tooele; sister Jaqueline Simpson of Salt Lake; grandfather Richard Phillips of Bakersfield, CA.

Jordan grew up in the east Sugarhouse area and attended Highland High School and graduated from East High School in 2009 and briefly attended Salt Lake Community College. In 2013 Jordan completed C.R. England Truck driving School and worked as a driver and trainer. Recently Jordan was employed as a dispatcher for Swift Transportation.

Jordan was always friendly and outgoing, even as a child he was always quick to strike up a conversation with anyone he encountered; there were no strangers for Jordan. He always was eager to speak of his daughter and loved updating everyone with what was happening in her life. Jordan will be missed by his friends and co-workers that he loved to entertain with his stories. Jordan enjoyed hiking, fishing and shooting with friends.

Jordan was taken from us too soon; his sudden loss has devastated his family, but he was loved and will be missed by all who knew him. His daughter will aways remember their brief but joyous time together.

Please join Jordan's family and friends for a gathering to celebrate his life and share your stories. Thursday, September 10th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City, where complimentary valet parking will be provided on the north side of the building. Interment will be on Friday, September 11th at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 1342 East 500 South, Salt Lake City.

My heart is heavy for you all. Please know that we are thinking of you and praying for you. May Jordan rest in peace and may God comfort you. I will see you soon. We love you.
