Judith Ann Alder
February 16, 1942 - June 28, 2026
Judith Ann Alder, affectionately known as Judi, departed this world on June 28, 2026, surrounded by the warmth and love of her family. Born on February 16, 1942, in Montpelier Idaho, Judi’s journey through life was marked by her vibrant, strong spirit, boundless creativity, and her profound ability to touch the hearts of all who knew her.
Judi’s professional life was one of dedication and compassion. A proud alumna of the University of Utah, she earned her master’s degree in nursing, embarking on a distinguished career in public health primarily assisting underserved communities.
Judi married William L. Alder, the love of her life in 1963. Together they built a family rooted in love, raising two children, Bryce Alder and Melissa Shaughnessy. Her legacy also continues through her granddaughters Olivia, Maya, and Rachel and her great granddaughters Margot and Grace. Judi passed just hours before Grace was born but we know she welcomed baby Grace into the world. Judi is also survived by her sister, Kathryn Stats, and brother, John Dunn, who shared in her life’s journey with love and camaraderie. Judi’s family was the light of her life, her pride and her greatest joy.
Judi was also a woman of many talents. Her passion for crafting was evident in her creations as a seamstress, knitter, cross-stitcher, quilter, painter, illustrator, and musician. Her works of art, lovingly crafted, were not only a showcase of her remarkable skill but also a reflection of her vibrant and imaginative spirit. She found great joy in reading and immersed herself in the world of books, a pastime she enjoyed as well as having long conversations with her family and friends.
In honoring Judi’s wishes, her family extends an invitation to join them in a Celebration of Life on September 12th with details to be announced separately. This gathering will be an opportunity to share memories, celebrate her remarkable life, and reflect on the joy she brought to so many.
Judi Alder’s radiant spirit will forever be remembered, her legacy cherished, and her love eternally felt by all who were graced by her presence. We will miss her beyond measure.
