Jules R. Lovinger

 

Jules R. Lovinger, of Salt Lake City and St. George, died on July 1st, 2009.  Born in Kansas City, MO on September 7th, 1913, to Annette and Lee Lovinger Sr.  He lived in Salt Lake City most of his life.  However life really began for Jules when he met and later married Jane Elisabeth Abbott on August 23rd, 1938, starting a full lifetime of love and happiness.

 

Jules was an Eagle Scout, graduate of University of Pennsylvania, member of Kaibab Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite and El Kalab Shrine.  He was a past member and president of Salt Lake Rotary Club, first member and Chairman of Salvation Army Advisory Board, first member and board member of B’nai Israel Congregation, first President of International Sanitary Supply Association (Trade Association), member of Salt Lake Country Club, member and first Board member of Bloomington Country Club of St. George, Life member of the Elks Club and others.

 

Survived by daughters Judy Lovinger and Jane Ann Roberts; grandchildren Scott Branch, Brooks Branch, Alison Branch, Jeremy Roberts, Amy Bolton, Patrick Cummings, Kathryn Palacio; and great-grandchildren Emma Roberts, Calvin Roberts, Lucy Branch, Sophie Roberts, Lilly Palacio and Addy Bolton.  Preceded in death by his wife Jane; daughter Joan Cummings; and brother Lee Lovinger Jr.

 

Friends may call upon the family at a wake on Tuesday, July 7th from 6 to 8 PM at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City.

I was sorry to read of the death of Jules this morning, July 5, 2009. I worked as the Secretary at Bloomington Country Club for 13 years beginning in 1984. I worked with him while he served on the Board of Directors. He was a great person and wonderful friend. It was such a privilege to know him and have him as a friend. My heartfelt sympathy , love and prayers to out to you, his Family.

I was sorry to read the death of Jules. I called on the Lovinger Co as a representative of the 3M Co. from the years of 1969-79.I enjoyed a great business and friend relationship during those years. My sympathy and love extends out to the family. Jules was a great friend of our family.My father Hans was a tailor at Arthur Franks and Jules was one of his customers. Hans died in 2007.
