Karen May Coon Hudachko
May 2, 1935 - November 2, 2024
Karen May Coon Hudachko, a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 2, 2024, in West Haven, Utah. Born on May 2, 1935, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Karen lived a life defined by love, kindness, and an unwavering dedication to her family and community.
Throughout her life, Karen brought warmth and generosity to everyone she encountered. Her years working with Holiday Inn Hotels made her known for her kindness and hospitality, leaving lasting impressions on colleagues and guests alike. As a dedicated member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church, she strengthened her faith and met her beloved husband, Tom. Together, they found joy and purpose within the church community, and Karen lovingly assisted with St. Ann’s bingo events, supporting the church’s school in her own way.
Karen found joy in the simple and meaningful moments of life—crocheting keepsakes for her family, playing bingo with friends, and taking occasional trips to Wendover. She also loved watching Secretariat race, proudly reminding all who would listen that “his record has never been beaten,” a testament to her love for championing greatness.
Preceded in death by her husband of 19 years, Thomas Hudachko, and her brother, Michael Coon, Karen is survived by her brother, John Delbert Coon, Jr. Her legacy of love and kindness lives on through her children: Mary (Martin) Hurd, Margaret (John) Winder, Carolyn (Michael Devin) Snow, Jennifer (Danny) Ogilvie, and Deborah (Greg) Linscott. Her grandchildren carry forward her memory and spirit: Jeremy (Deysi) Hurd, Brittany (Eric) Peterson, Karmala (Mike) Ladner, John (Steff) Winder Jr., Blythe (Tony) Wilde, Elizabeth (Brian) Wunderlich, Robert (Jasmine) Snow, Patti (Jason) Rantapee, Alicia (John) Rice, Michael (Machel) Devin, Shilo (Joseph) Spurlock, Carrie Ogilvie, Patricia (Joshua) Ellis, Brandi (Anthony Hammer) Ryan, Amber Ryan, and Stephen (Chay) Ryan.
Karen’s love extended to her great-grandchildren, Jadon, Myles, and Isaiah Hurd; Ariana Gallegos; Trevor and Carson Winder; Christina Ladner; Mckenna (Mike) Winger; Danielle (Sam) Mathias; Delys (Jordan) Williams; Jacob (Madison) Pezzuto; Dallin Wilde; Maddison Wilde; Zachary Stewart; Aiden (Rose) Peay; Brayden Peay; Ariana and Addison Rice; Eva and Carter Devin; Natasha Ogilvie; Alexis and Kaitlyn Spurlock; Ashley Ogilvie; Ollie and Lucas Elkins; Reagan Hawes; Zoey and Ryder Ellis; TayLynn Metcalf; Harper Ryan-Hammer; Taylor Ryan; Braden and Austin Davis; Paisley and Hudson Ryan.
