Kenna Jo “KJ” Wareham
March 13, 1957 - September 4, 2023
Kenna Jo “KJ” Wareham, 66, passed away unexpectedly on September 4, 2023.
We love you and we’ll miss you very much.
KJ was a loving Mom, Grandma, Sister, Aunt and Friend. She was welcomed into the world on March 13, 1957, by Gay Overturf (Mother) and Dick Wareham (Father), in Murray, Utah. Dick later married Karen (Oborn) Wareham, who helped raise her. KJ was a bit of a “wild child” who liked to have fun, live life and drive her parents crazy. Some of her life’s passions included cosmetology, caring for pets, fostering kittens, pottery, crafts, and NCIS (TV show). However, nothing meant more to her than family, and she particularly adored being a grandma. She loved being surprised by a gift or a caring gesture, almost as much as she loved surprising others. Cooking new recipes for loved ones was also something she really enjoyed. About ninety percent of them turned out great. She had a genuine laugh; a silly sense of humor and she wasn’t afraid to laugh at herself. She had an edgy fashion style, and ever-changing hair color.
She leaves behind her siblings Greg [Rachelle], Roger [Ray], Sharon [Randy] and Wanda [Glen], sons Tyson and Ryan [Shelli], grandchildren Ray and Ayla, dog Cristi, and cats Ziva, Milton and Lloyd. Told you she liked pets.
Close family and friends, please join us for a celebration of her life on Friday, September 22nd from 6:00 to 8:00 in the evening at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City. Guests are encouraged to use parking and entrance on the north side of the building. Come commiserate with each other and share stories about the time you spent with her.

She brought joy to all---human and fur babies. She will be missed. Kenna and I shared so much. When we were young we spent alot of time together at our Grandparents house. We played for hours on end with our cousins who lived down the road. We rode the sheep---we were the original "mutton busters". After a hard day of playing we shared a bath, a delicious home cooked meal and a bed. Yep-we were fostered by our Grandparents. Perhaps that led to our becoming foster parents! Kenna fostered kittens and I foster dogs. Later when Kenna lived in Kearns we visited oftern. One of our favorite outings was going to Lagoon. We were both small and it took a few years before we were tall enough to drive the cars around the track. We loved the fun house too. One day we were listening to the radio and won a contest. We either named the artist or the song. Kenna called in the correct answer. Oh my goodness the celebration we performed in the kitchen. You would have thought we won the lottery.... Anyone who knew Kenna won the lottery by being around the life and joy that was uniquely Kenna. Her memory will be charished..

Kenna was one of my favorite cousins. I was shocked when I found out she passed away. I will always love her. She always has a smile on her face.
