Kenneth McAfee

August 16, 1960 - January 11, 2023

Kenneth McAfee, age 62, of Sandy, Utah died January 11th, 2023 due to complications of alcoholism.

Ken was born August 16, 1960 to Roger and Sherrill McAfee, in Salt Lake City, Utah.

He graduated Cottonwood high school in 1979 with as much enthusiasm as the rest of us.

He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing and camping. He had many hobbies during his life where his motto was “If it's worth doing, it's worth over-doing”.

Ken also had a guy's passion for cars. His first was a 1974 Chevy Nova that he worked on and customized all through high school until it was loud enough, fast enough and uncomfortable enough. His last was a pickup whose radio we're still trying to figure out. You really can't hear it over the engine, so it's fine.

He also had dogs ( Laska, Damien, and Max) who he adored and were no doubt waiting for him to return home.

He was baptized Episcopalian. Although never one to attend church much, he did return during his AA years and seemed to enjoy it. He also told a close friend that he did believe there was a heaven, and he believed he'd be going there. Yep dude, we believe you're there, too.

Ken wasn't perfect, but he was ours and we miss him very much.

Ken is survived by his father, Roger McAfee, His sister, Linda, and his wife, Kris. He also leaves behind a several friends and family members who will miss him dearly. He was preceeded in death by his mother, Sherrill McAfee.

A celebration of life will be held at Starks Funeral Parlor at 3651 South 900 East in Salt Lake City on Saturday, September 30th from 6 to 8 p.m.

In Loving Memory
