Kerry Konschel Burden
May 20, 1967 - April 2, 2023
Kerry Konschel Burden 55, of Harare Zimbabwe, passed away on April 2nd, 2023, at her home in Cottonwood Heights Utah after a two-year battle with cancer.
Kerry was born in Harare Zimbabwe to Cecil and Alison Konschel on May 20th, 1967. She married Bob Burden on August 26th, 2000, at their home in Cottonwood Heights Utah. She graduated from Rhodes University in Grahamstown South Africa with a Bachelor of Science in Information Processing. She worked as a project manager for various companies in South Africa and the United States. Her final job was as a director at a biomedical company in Salt Lake City Utah. She was excited when she received her US citizenship in July 2021.
She was passionate about travel and took her husband on numerous trips to Africa. These trips always included going on Safari and having a South African braai with friends and family. She also loved sports and was an ardent Rugby fan. She coached her step grandson Max in soccer and received her greenbelt in traditional karate. She loved animals and later in life trained her Dutch Shepherd Rey in dog protection sports.
Kerry is preceded in death by her mother Alison Konschel, father Cecil Konschel, and stepson Nicholas Burden.
Kerry is survived by her husband Bob Burden, brother Rusten Konschel, stepson Lucas Burden, step grandson Max Burden, and step granddaughter Lily Smith.
A Celebration of Life will be on August 26th, 2023 from 6-8 PM at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Millcreek. Guests are encouraged to use parking and enterance on the north side of the building. Memories and condolences can be shared here.

Dear Kerry, Childhood friend from Harare, such a beautiful tribute to her, brought back happy memories. Beautiful lady who lived and loved in life fully and well. Taken far too soon. May her dear soul rest in peace
