Keven Lance Eby
April 24, 1964 - May 31, 2017
Keven Lance Eby was born April 24, 1964 to Michael "Mick" and Rosanne Eby. He returned to heaven after a courageous battle with cancer. Lance passed away peacefully with his childhood sweetheart, best friend and wife by his side early Wednesday, May 31, 2017.
Lance leaves behind his beautiful wife Peri Murphy Eby; children Keven Eby, Taylor Eby, Tanner Martin, Miranda Jones; granddaughter Addison; mother, Rosanne Eby; siblings Brett Eby, Michelle Forslund, Guy Corbett and Debbie Fenner; many nieces and nephews, cousins and a multitude of lifelong friends and colleagues. He is preceded in death by his father, Michael "Mick" Eby and nephew Cameron Eby.
Family, sports and hard work were important to Lance. Receiving the 1982 Mr. Hustle award at Brighton High School, he went on to play football at Dixie College and ultimately coached his sons through football. He never missed a game and was their biggest fan! Lance's passion for family and outdoors was pivotal in his life. He loved working in the yard, University of Utah football, photography, travel, skiing, golfing and relaxing in his beautiful backyard with his family.
Lance married his best friend, Peri on September 24, 2002 in Island Park, Idaho. Their incredible love for one another, humor and strength were truly things most people dream about. His smile was infectious, and he could be heard whistling throughout the day, a genuine example of his love for a life that was cut too short. Lance's passing has left a huge void in the hearts of all that knew him. To have known Lance, was to truly love him. He was the glue of his family, he was the voice of reason and could always make you laugh. You could meet him just once, and never forget him. To say he will be missed is an understatement. The world is a better place because of this amazing man.
A celebration of his life will be held on Monday, June 5th at 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City, Utah. Guests are encouraged to use the complimentary valet parking on the north side of the building.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday June 6th at 11:00 AM at Mountain View Memorial Cemetery, 3115 E 7800 S (Bengal Blvd).
The family would like to express a special Thank you to all that helped and cared for Lance and also the attentive care from CNS Hospice.
In lieu of flowers or gifts, please consider making donations to the Lance Eby Memorial fund at America First Credit Union.
In Loving Memory
Lance was truly one of the good guys. He was (and is) a great example. Every time I saw him he was working, I don't know if he even knew how to relax. Rest In Peace.
