Kevin James Cazier

December 26, 1955 - November 22, 2025

Kevin James Cazier, 69 years old, was born on December 26, 1955 in Salt Lake City Utah, to his parents Howard Cazier and Delores Warner Street. He came home to older sister Jolene and brother Craig. He was later joined by sisters Brenda and Denise. Kevin and his family lived in Salt Lake City for most of his life. His mother remarried Donald Street and Kevin gained a wonderful father he loved and respected for the rest of his life. Kevin graduated from Granite High School, despite his dislike of mandatory education.

Kevin worked in the construction trades, often with Don, his Dad. This time played an important part for him as he learned skills from Don which he used in his work and personal life. Kevin may have taken longer to accomplish projects, but they would be perfect when completed. He could not abide less than perfection. This quality is reflected in the work he performed all his life. Kevins’ kids teased him when he had reason to sign his name. He took a minute to contemplate the signature, while circling the paper with pen in hand. When he finally signed, it was as was everything he did, perfection.

Kevin married Francine Bloomquist, later divorced, and they had a son, Kevin Jason Cazier in 1976. Kevin later married Sue Stevens Trujillo in 1987 and became the Dad to Marcie Lyn and Stacie Ann. This new blended family was always destined to be together. Through the good years of vacations, holiday and birthday celebrations and just being together, sometimes at a noise level that would frighten the angels, as well as the hard times of typical family strife, illnesses, disagreements and Kevin’s own devils, we are family, loving and standing strong for each other always.

Kevin was a drummer, “the best on earth”, in his own words. Over his life, he played with many local bands and greatly enjoyed it. Music was the soundtrack of his life. Kevin also loved golfing, basketball, GO Jazz and football, GO Saints! His greatest love, however, was his family.

In 1999, Kevin and Sue bought into a small, local property management company. They worked with the current amazing staff and brought on more hard-working people to significantly grow the business. Kevin worked on the construction and maintenance side of the business, keeping properties repaired and often completing rehab projects turning older, worn-down apartments into beautiful new homes for people. Renovation was the part of Kevin’s days that he most enjoyed. He retired in 2021.

He was a magnetic force, people gravitated towards him, and he accepted and loved them all. He was compassionate, loving, caring, attentive, and hilarious. If you were around Kevin, you were guaranteed to laugh. He never met a sales or service person that he didn’t like and couldn’t negotiate with to the highest heavens. These people generally became part of the friendships he cherished through his life.

Time went by, as always happens, and our family grew. Kevin gained daughter and son in-laws, grandchildren, and even great grandchildren.  This family was the most important and valued part of his life. Kevin’s kids, grandkids, great grandkids and nieces were lifeblood to him. They were his first thought every morning and his last at night. He went to every dance recital, gymnastics meet, football, basketball, soccer, lacrosse and softball game that he could. He was their biggest cheerleader and strongest protector. He was Dad, Pop, Uncle to his kids and brought in many of their friends as his own as well. If you knew Kevin, you were important to him.

Kevin is preceded in death by his parents, Don and Dee Street, his mother-in-law, Illa Watkins Mataya and his angel baby Kyla Ann Bryson. He is survived by his wife, Sue, his son Kevin Jason Cazier, wife Melanie, daughters Marcie Lyn Watkins, husband TK Bake, and Stacie Ann Bryson, husband Brian James Bryson, grandchildren Marcus James Hallett, Taeya Grace Bryson, Raynee Jean Bryson, Beau James Bryson and great grandson Oliver James Hallett, special nieces Jessica Dawn Williams and Danielle Susanne Williams and sisters Brenda Garner and Lori Williams.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Monday, December 1, 2025 from 6:00 p.m. through 8:00 p.m. at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East Millcreek Utah. Guests are encouraged to use the parking and entrance on the north side of the building.
