LIMBO – BIG LARR

Larry Limberis born September 17, 1961 to Pete and Mary Limberis in Salt Lake City, Utah.

He passed on January 24, 2022.

Larry was a member of the Greek Orthodox Church. He graduated from Highland High School and then started his 37-year career at UDOT. Larry retired from UDOT as a Roadway Operations Manager on December 15, 2020. UDOT was Larry’s passion, his wife, his kids, and his family.  He especially loved when it snowed, he would always say “Dollars from Heaven”. UDOT WAS LARRY’S LIFE.

Larry won many awards at skeet shooting and loved anything outdoors, especially hunting and fishing with family and friends. We all have our own special memories and GREAT STORIES with Larry, Hunting, Fishing and TOGA Parties with our BIG LARR. We all know that NO ONE had a BIGGER heart than Larry. He would do anything for anyone just to see a smile or laughter. Larry was always in the mood to cook a Leg of Lamb and have a GREEK SALAD with Fresh Veggie’s from his DAD’s Garden or Danny and Johanna’s Garden.

Larry is survived by his brother Steve (Lorraine) Clark, sister Corina (Lyle) Dailey and sister Johanna (Danny) Lindsley; nephews Peter Williams, David (Brandi) Williams, Elliott (Victoria) Clark, Mason Clark, Zachary Lindsley and Dominic Lindsley, great-nephews and nieces Noah, Kaine, Tayla, Emmett, and Vivian; Aunt Billie Priskos, his cousins Tessie, John, Katie and Stacy Lords and many other close family members. He was preceded in death by his Father, Mother, Uncle’s, Grandparents, and his cousin (best friend) Alex Priskos.

A Celebration of Life will be Tuesday, February 1, 2022, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Starks Funeral Parlor Located at 3651 South 900 East Salt Lake City, Utah 84106. MAY HIS MEMORY BE ETERNAL

In Loving Memory

Larry hired me in 1997 at Station 225. He was always kind to me and I enjoyed working with him. Nobody could run a jackhammer better than Larry. We went dove hunting a few times, he was an awesome shot. After I left Station 225, I transferred to Region 3. Many years later, I ran into Larry at 227. I filled my tanker many times at his shed. Everytime I pulled in, he would drive out to greet me and we would talk about old times. I will miss knowing that Larry is here on earth. Take care my friend and thanks for everything!

I've known Larry since I was in the 6th grade and best friends with his little sister Jo. He was always so kind if also sometimes exasperated by our antics. I remember him as gentle and huge hearted. Sending all of my love to his family and friends in this time of grief. His memory will be a blessing to all who encountered him.

Johanna, Steve, Corina and Tessie, I'm heartbroken over the passing of Larry.  I was lucky enough to get to spend part of my life with him and made some wonderful memories. He was always willing to help anyone, loved to golf, his smile would light up a room, snow would make him light up, and he especially loved to cook. A piece of my heart will be gone forever.  I will always love him.  My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.  I hope your memories will help ease the pain as time goes on.  ❤️❤️❤️❤️

One of my fondest memories is when Larry, Alex, my cousin George and I would go bird hunting and fishing with our fathers. We would ride in the open bed of the pickup truck to get to our destination. Thankfully, we never got in a car accident. May Larry's memory be eternal,

I am so sorry to hear of Larry's passing. I had the privilege of working with "Big Larr" at UDOT over the past decade. He was such a kind man with a huge heart and he really cared deeply about his work. From the time I was new in my job, Larry always went out of his way to help me succeed. He would pitch terrific media stories and always reach out to me with any issues facing his area. I will always remember Larry for his generosity and will really miss his friendship. My deepest condolences to Larry's family and friends.

What a gift to get to know Larry while working with maintenance at UDOT.  We had alot of fun joking around! Larry was a great station supervisor and always watched out for the guys.  He was my friend, and taught me alot about maintenance with the Department. He will be greatly missed. Marge
