Larry Wayne Miller

May 29, 1945 - July 11, 2010

Larry W. Miller

Papa

Papa went to his eternal rest on the evening of July 11, 2010 at home, in the presence of his loved ones.

Born May 29, 1945 in Terre Haute, IN to Jacob H. and Ruth Doll Miller.   He joined the military directly after graduation and was a 25-year Air Force Veteran followed by 13 years of Civil Service.  During his career he served in Thailand, England, Belgium, Germany and various bases across the United States. From the time that he met Bonnie Rae Doney, they were inseparable.  They married in Great Falls, MT on May 7, 1973.  Together they somehow survived raising two daughters  Kari and Tammy. He enjoyed spending time at his cabin in Idaho and was an avid ATV rider.  Everyone who met him thought that he was their best friend.  He was kind to everyone and would help anyone, whether a neighbor or a stranger.  Above all he cherished his family and caring for them.  His grandchildren were his life. He spent many hours in devotion to them and they adored their Papa in return.  His passing has left a hole in our hearts; he will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his wife “Bono”; daughters Kari Whitman (Eric Marlin) and Tammy (Bradford) Lashley; grandchildren John Wyatt, Peyton Rae, Grant David, Riley Denise; brother Don E. (Patti) Miller; brother-in-law Bill Rathbun; nieces Kathy, Laura; and nephew Billy.

Preceded in death by his parents and his sister Jeanette.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday July 14th at 9:00 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 300 East 11800 South, Sandy.

It saddens me to hear of Larry's passing. He was a good friend of mine all thru our grade school and High School years, and a great Band member. Lost track of Larry thru the years, and now he's gone from us to soon. Our prayers to you and your family.
