LaTresa Egan Imus

September 19, 1963 - February 26, 2010

LaTresa Marie Egan Imus, 46, of Bountiful, Utah, formerly of Idaho Falls, passed away February 26, 2010, at her home.

LaTresa was born September 19, 1963, in Rigby, Idaho, to Virgil B. Egan and Ida LaRae Wages Egan.  She was eagerly welcomed by a sister, LaHoma, and three brothers, Marshall, Robert and Gordon.  She grew up on the family farm and was affectionately nicknamed Teece.

She attended schools in the Ucon area and graduated from Bonneville High School in Idaho Falls.  She continued her education in nursing, training at Eastern Idaho Technical College and worked at Riverview Hospital in Idaho Falls.  After moving to Salt Lake City, she worked at the University of Utah Neuropsychiatric Hospital for 18 years.  During this time, she completed her Bachelor of Science in nursing at Regis University.  LaTresa loved her nursing career, and many benefitted from her specialized care.  We are so proud of all that she accomplished.

On July 27, 2007, she married Austin Imus in Las Vegas, Nevada.  They made their home in Bountiful, Utah, which they shared with their dogs, Maggie, Asashe, and Kona.

At the time of her death, she was working as a registered nurse at the Veterans Hospital in Salt Lake City.  She was teaching clinical psychiatric nursing to students from Westminster College while working to earn her Master’s degree in nursing education from Westminster College.  She would have graduated in May and recently received her honors pin in education.

LaTresa enjoyed quilting, crocheting, gardening, target shooting, reading, painting and traveling.  She and Austin traveled to several exotic locations.  They also enjoyed spending time on their boat at Lake Powell.

She loved having all of her family around and particularly doted on her nephews and nieces as if they were her own children.  She became a mentor to them as they grew older.  Her caring personality and wonderful sense of humor put everyone at ease.  We are all better because of her influence in our lives.  We love and miss our beloved Teece.

LaTresa is survived by her husband, Austin Blair Imus of Bountiful; mother, Ida LaRae Egan of Idaho Falls; siblings, LaHoma (DeeLynn) Housley, Marshall (Annette) Egan, Robert (Debbie) Egan and Gordon (Lana) Egan, all of Idaho Falls; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her father, Virgil B. Egan.
