Laura Ann Raisor Romero

November 10, 1982 - May 8, 2013

Laura Ann Raisor Romero

Laura Ann Raisor Romero unexpectedly returned to the loving arms of her Heavenly Father on May 8, 2013, after a long-term illness. Laura was born on November 10, 1982 to David and Dianne Lambson Raisor. She has 3 sisters and 3 brothers, and 23 nieces and nephews who love and adore her.

Laura attended Magna Elementary, where she loved wearing a plaid vest while singing with the Magna Music Makers, Brockbank Jr. High, and Cyprus High School. She was a member of the LDS church. Growing up she loved to sing and dance, and hang out with her friends. She loved to laugh and make others happy. Laura married Gerardo Flores (later divorced), and together they had two children, Gerardo Flores Jr. (who she lovingly called Dito), and Alicia Flores (known to her mother as Lici). Lici and Dito are her finest work, and her greatest joy. Laura later married the love of her life, Jorge Romero, who has been her rock and loving supporter, and a wonderful father to the kids. When they married, Laura gained another daughter, Ashley Soto, who she loved and adored.

Laura spent her time helping others, enjoying holidays and family traditions, and taking care of her kids. She will be missed by her family and friends more than words can express, and we are grateful to know that families are forever.

She is survived by her parents David and Dianne Raisor; husband Jorge Romero; children Gerardo and Alicia Flores, and Ashley Soto; siblings Dawn (Dan) Ramsey, Cami (Ryan) Greer, Cory (Crystal) Raisor, Jeff (Trynda) Raisor, Bryan (Krystal) Raisor, Cheryl (Mike) Evans; mother-in-law Reyna Romero; along with aunts, uncles and cousins. She was greeted on the other side by her grandmothers, and her grandpa who went to prepare the way for her just a few weeks ago.

There will be a viewing Sunday, May 12, 2013 from 6:30 – 8:30 pm, and Monday, May 13, 2013 from 10:30 – 11:45 am. Funeral services will immediately follow at 12:00 noon on Monday. All services will be held at the Lakeridge 9th Ward, 7825 West Sharon Drive in Magna.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to an account in Laura's name, to benefit her children, at any Zions Bank. We love you Laura!

I would like to thank Monty Williamson for notifying me of Bill's pasnisg. He and Lori have been a real blessing to the Cooks and all of us as well. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.Bill and I were phone and letter brothers. I never met him personally but for years we had such joyous times talking and sharing God's immense love for us. Bill was such a dear man. I know Elaine will miss him so, as will I. At times we would be sharing the word of truth (Christ Himself) and Bill would break down and weep that weep of purest love and anointing from the deep well of life within his spirit. Then he would regale me at other times with stories of his former adventures and life in the province. He was quite an historian I found. He also loved his animals. Such tales he could recount. Of all the memories I treasure of this wonderful man, I will treasure always the letter he wrote me a while back on bits and pieces of paper he scrounged. It was hard to read but it melted my heart. He longed for the fellowship we had but now could not as he had moved into the in-patient residence there in Creston. Such a heart of the servant Jesus so desires of us. The scribbled out letter I shall always treasure for it manifested the Christ I know and he knew (knows). Bless you Bill.Bill, I will miss you as a true friend and our times sharing across the border. But I rejoice with you for your first and foremost love was the Lord Jesus Christ Himself. Therefore my tears are of joy and saddness as you pass from this earthly realm intoHis waiting, embracing Arms. Bless the Lord for you my dearest friend.Cal CobbFarmington, NY
