Leo Thomas McIsaac

September 1, 1948 - February 12, 2018

Our loving father, brother and friend, Leo Thomas McIsaac, 69, died after his courageous battle with brain cancer on February 12, 2018.

Leo was born on September 1, 1948 in Wakefield, Massachusetts, to parents John and Mildred McIsaac. He grew up in Wakefield, and also lived in Rowley, North Reading and Salt Lake City.

Leo proudly served in the Army National Guard of Massachusetts. He received an honorary discharge as Sergeant in 1974. He graduated from the University of Massachusetts and Boston College.

Leo worked in human resources, retiring from the US Post Office as director and PRMI as vice-president. Throughout his career, he received many awards, and achieved recognition from professional organizations.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Mildred McIsaac and his sister Teresa.

Dad always put family first. We children, Jason, Stacie and Alexandra were the most important part of his life. Dad also loved his son-in-law, Jason's husband, Jeremy McCulley as one of his own children.

Dad was an avid fan of Boston College athletics. He could have taught Doug Flutie a thing or two.

He was always prepared to fill in for Tom Brady of the Patriots.

Furthermore, if the Red Sox signed dad to replace David Ortiz they would have won the World Series.

Duh.

Leo is survived by his children; his best friend since grade school, Carl P. White; his grandson Colt; his brothers Ken and Jack and their families; son-in-law Jordan; many nieces and nephews; and Bella his loving dog.

A wake to celebrate Dad's life will be held on Monday, February 19, 2018 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City. Guests are encouraged to use the complimentary valet parking on the north side of the building. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Starks Funeral Parlor with a viewing one hour prior to the services. Interment to follow at Redwood Memorial Estates, 6500 South Redwood Rd. West Jordan.

If preferred, donation may be made, dedicated to Leo, in lieu of flowers to Huntsman Cancer Institute. Please designate the donation to neuro cancer.

Dad, we love you and will always cherish the memories and knowledge that you gave us.

In Loving Memory

My deepest condolences. Leo was one of the best managers I have ever had. He was always so encouraging of everything I did and had a deep genuine care for all those he worked with. I can honestly say that he gave me so much valued advice that I still use today. He was a great man and I feel lucky to have known him.

I had the honor of working with Leo at PRMI, and have always had such a soft spot for him- It began with our shared love of Boston Sports, but grew as I interacted with him, and watched him handle difficult situations. He impacted my life in a beautiful, positive way. I am holding the McIsaac family close to my heart, and sending you love, light, and comfort.

Leo was my boss for a few years in Finance in the Boston Post Office.(Yes somehow he left HR for a few years). He was a mentor and we worked together on many projects. He had a great sense of humor which many people missed. I learned how to be a better business letter writer as he kept sending my memos back with red ink and "suggested changes". After months of corrections I received one back with no changes. Attached to it was an "Atta Boy certificate", which I was told If I received 10 such Atta boys I could trade in for a larger award.. Leo , thanks for your direction and friendship. RIP
