A Wonderful Husband  

 Leo passed away on June 11, 2009 just moments after his wife Ellen finished a long visit with him.  She told him it was alright to go.

 

He was born on April 11, 1920 in Clear Creek, Utah to Angelina Ferrara and Leonardo Petroni.  Leo proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII.  Leo was a devoted parishioner of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially spending time in Schofield fishing.  Leo also liked taking trips to Nevada.  He was a fine cook and was happy to cook for his family.  Leo loved sweets and was known to always have candy in his pockets.

 

In addition to his wife of 39 years he is survived by his children Frank Petroni, Connie Petroni, Linda (Dean) Dwyer, Rick Petroni, Debbie Petroni, and Ken Petroni; and their mother Angelina Brown; step-children (who he cared for as his own, and they for him) Maxine (Jim) Clark, LaRue Morrison, Joan Griffiths, Colleen (David) Smith, George Ann Sealander, Lee Ann (Jack) Bains; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sister Irma Match; brothers Frank and Sam; and his little dog Daisy.

 

Preceded in death by his sisters Elvie, Mary and Rosie.

 

Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, June 19th at 11:00 at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 3560 West 3650 South, West Valley City, where the Recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 10:30 AM.   Interment to follow at Redwood Memorial Estates, 6500 South Redwood Rd., West Jordan.
