Leslie Dawn Wall (Bell)
June 6, 1951 - January 18, 2024
Leslie Dawn Wall (Bell), a beacon of love and compassion, journeyed peacefully beyond this world on January 18th, 2024, in South Jordan, Utah, after bravely facing the challenges of dementia.
Born on June 6, 1951, in Richfield, Utah, to Barbara and Royal (Bill) Bell, Leslie's early years were shaped by her role as the only sister, helping to care for her three brothers within the close-knit community of Midvale, Utah. She graduated from Hillcrest High School and pursued higher education at Utah State University, earning her B.S. in Psychology in May 1996. Driven by an unwavering thirst for knowledge, Leslie returned to Utah State University, achieving her Master's in Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling in 2001.
Leslie's caring heart and boundless compassion defined her essence. Leslie found joy in helping those who needed it the most—young minds and hearts, those less fortunate, people with disabilities, and injured individuals who needed a voice and advocacy to navigate life’s most difficult challenges.
Her life's journey unfolded as a devoted caretaker, touching the lives of many through her dedication to education, vocational rehabilitation, and disability advocacy. She contributed to Jordan School District as a teacher's aide, training specialist, and school lunch secretary for sixteen years. Her true calling emerged as a resource aide at Bingham High School, where she passionately supported disabled individuals. Leslie continued her impactful work as a GED Instructor at the Utah State Prison, guiding individuals through the challenges of math and English.
Returning to Utah State University, Leslie blended her passion and skills as a Shelter Placement Specialist at SLC Shelter Care. The culmination of her career found her serving fifteen years at the Utah State Office of Vocational Rehabilitation, where she excelled as a disability determination examiner, rehabilitation technician, and vocational evaluator until her well-deserved retirement in 2011.
Her beloved family survives Leslie: her devoted husband, Lee; cherished children, Victoria White (Zach) and Seth Wall (Adrienne); and her three brothers, Scott Bell (Sandra), R. Bruce Bell, and Gordon Bell (Sabrina). She leaves a lasting legacy in the hearts of her adoring grandchildren, Avari (Coda), Landon, Evelyn, Alana, Camden, and Keenan.
Preceded in death by her parents, Barbara and Royal (Bill), Leslie's departure leaves a void that will be deeply felt by all who knew and loved her.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate caregivers at Riverway Assisted Living and Memory Care, who illuminated Leslie's challenging journey with their kindness and support. In addition, we express our sincere appreciation to our family and friends for their unwavering support throughout her final days. Your love and presence provided comfort and strength during this difficult time.
Leslie's remarkable life will be celebrated on Saturday, January 27, 2024, from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at Starks Funeral Home, 3651 South and 900 East, Salt Lake City, Utah. Guests are encouraged to use parking and entrance located on the north side of the building.
