Letty Jo Ness

September 2, 1925 - February 1, 2009

In Memoriam

Our beloved family matriarch passed away on February 1, 2009 with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren by her side.

Born September 2, 1925, in Brigham City, Utah to Ira Dewey Howard and Hazel Dunn, she outlived her brother Kelly and her sister Monreve and is survived by her sister Jerry and younger brother Joe Howard.

Letty Jo lived a remarkable life and left a tremendous legacy to her posterity.  This 5’4” petite woman shared many of her various talents throughout her 83 years.  In her early years she was a playwright and an actress and a beauty queen…she was a looker!  While in her 40’s mom recognized the need and value to have strong, moral political leaders that would uphold our nation’s Constitution.  She became a community leader and thrust herself into politics successfully organizing campaigns as a political strategist…further as one that championed conservative causes she authored the manuscript, “A Matter of a Moral Issue”.  She was a true patriot!

In her 60’s mom became an artist and took up oil painting leaving her family many pieces of artwork that we cherish for each painting has a special meaning.

Our mom is survived by her daughter Debra Ness Huckstep and son James Howard Ness; along with five grandchildren; and three marvelous great-grandbabies!  She is now reunited with her husband, Howard who passed away eleven months ago.

We miss the gracious charm that Letty Jo left for us to contemplate and emulate…we celebrate her life’s example of extraordinary faith and endurance and thank the Lord for her legacy of love…her legacy we honor.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 5th at 10:00am at the Toll Canyon Ward, 2555 W. Kilby Road, Park City.  Viewing one hour prior to services.  Interment to follow at Park City Cemetery.
