Linda Ann Howa Martinez
February 10, 1960 - October 19, 2025
Linda Ann Howa Martinez, affectionately known to many as Aunt Linda, passed away peacefully on October 19, 2025, at the age of 65. She was born on February 10, 1960, in Salt Lake City, Utah, where she spent her life surrounded by her loving family and dear friends.
Linda was preceded in death by her cherished Mother, Nancy Howa Martinez, her beloved sisters Mary Margaret Howa Martinez and Alice Michelle Howa Duran, her Brother-in-law Randy, her Uncles David and Ray, and her Aunts Sister Alice Michele and Kay.
She is survived by her Nephew Ricky (Jaden) and Nieces Kimberly (Chad), Andrea (Matt), Jolene (Miguel), Elizabeth (Skyler), and Sarah (Dylan); her brother-in-law Dennis.
Linda adored her nineteen great-nieces and great-nephews.
She also cherished her two great-great nephews.
Linda was honored to be the Godmother to Ricky and Kimberly.
She leaves behind countless other family members and close friends who will carry her love and laughter forever.
Linda’s lifelong dedication to education and service began early. At 18 years old, she started teaching at Matheson with her Mother through the Salt Lake School District, where she inspired and guiding young ones.
She later began her career at CAP Preschool, where her compassion and creativity touched the lives of countless children.
In 2000, Linda joined UCA as an Education Program Specialist, where she supervised, trained, and coached teachers—helping to shape the early education programs with her insight and care.
From 2011 to 2015, she served as a Family Advocate, supporting and empowering parents through education, resources, and heartfelt guidance. From 2015 until 2025, Linda worked as a Case Manager with Housing, dedicating herself to helping the homeless and high-risk populations through housing assistance and rental programs—ensuring that many individuals and families could find a safe place to call home.
Her colleagues remember her as a leader, mentor, and fierce advocate—someone who served her community with empathy, intelligence, and unwavering compassion.
After retiring, Linda found community and laughter with her friends in the Catholic Women’s League, where her wit and warmth lit up every gathering.
Her passions were many: she loved book club brunches, traveling with family, camping under Utah’s stars, and cooking traditional Lebanese dishes. Linda was a woman of creativity and heart—known for her calligraphy, baking, gardening, reading, crafts, and playful spirit.
Whether planning a canyon trip, whipping up something delicious in the kitchen, or simply playing games with loved ones, Linda lived her life with grace, humor, and generosity.
Join us for a celebration of life. Where all are welcome. Wednesday, October 22, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Starks Funeral Parlor • 3651 South 900 East, Millcreek, UT 84106. She will be laid to rest at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery at a later date.
Linda will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her caring heart, tremendous strength, and the joy she brought to everyone who knew her. Her legacy of love, learning, and service will live on in the countless lives she touched.
