Lisa Ann Manzano

Born October 27th 1961

Died April 30th 2009

Our sister’s life was short and filled with challenge. Growing up a decade behind three brothers Lisa developed a strong will and an independent spirit. She had an athletic childhood and spent much of her time involved with and competing in gymnastics.

Lisa graduated from Cottonwood High School and attended the University of Utah where she was a varsity cheerleader and studied dance. She later became a beautician and instructor at the Continental College of beauty and cosmetology.

In 1988 Lisa was involved in a car accident that left her paralyzed. She spent the next 21 years working with physical and occupational therapists with the hope of someday becoming self-sufficient. The independent spirit that made Lisa strong also made her life harder than it should have been. She remained hopeful and was happy when she died.

Preceded in death by her parents Chris and Bonnie.

Survived by her brothers Chris, Marc and Scott. Her nephew Marc Jr and his children Marcus and Payton.

In Loving Memory

What a fun, energetic sister you have been blessed with. Lisa and I did gymnastics together in Jr. high and high school. She was such a smartalic and so much fun to be with. I was so sorry to hear about her accident and when I went to visit her in the hospital, I was amazed at her determination. She is a wonderful woman and I wish you peace in her passing. Love and prayers, Traci Godfrey Roberts
