Lisa Marie Polster
June 7, 1959 - December 22, 2023
Lisa Polster joined her parents Eric and Eunice (Bergt) Polster, sisters Joanne Geldner and Betty Baden, baby twin brothers, her best friend and roomie Beth West and many aunts, uncles, and friends in heaven on December 22, 2023. As her brother-in-law Rev. Tom Baden so aptly said, “Lisa received the best Christmas present ever.”
Lisa was born June 7, 1959, in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Salt Lake City. She attended various special education schools and graduated from Highland High School in their special education program. Lisa worked a variety of jobs connected with her schooling and with the care facilities she resided in throughout the years.
Lisa enjoyed crossword puzzles, music, dancing, watching Jeopardy! and Utah Jazz games with her dad and flirting with boys. She had a sweet, angelic smile and loved Disney movies. Lisa had an uncanny ability to remember the names of people she met and easily remembered the names of her favorite actors and actresses. Lisa liked things to be organized and she had a place for her makeup, jewelry, and many other treasures. Once she got into trouble for organizing the employees’ desks at Fisher Bakery where her parents worked part-time.
Lisa was lovingly taken care of at several care centers over many years. She lived at West Jordan Care Center for 20 years and 8 months. We are deeply thankful for the love and care she received from her West Jordan Care Center family. The nurses and staff went above and beyond in caring for Lisa. We appreciate the care provided by CNS Home Health & Hospice and thank Starks Funeral Parlor for their kind care of Lisa. A special thanks to her brother Dennis and sister-in-law Phyllis for being with her in her last days.
Lisa is survived by her sister Beverly (Robert) Meyer and family, brothers David, Dennis (Kathy), Donald (Joyce) and their families, brothers-in-law Tom Baden and Eric Geldner and their families, sisters-in-law Colleen and Phyllis and her West Jordan Care Center family.
A graveside burial service for Lisa will be held at Mount Olivet Cemetery, 1342 E 500 S on Wednesday December 27, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. where she will be laid to rest next to her parents.
A Memorial service will be held at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 13249 South Redwood Rd. on January 27, 2024, at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers thank you for considering a contribution to a local care center that specializes in assisting the developmentally disabled population or to a charity of your choice.
In Loving Memory
I'm so sorry for your loss, Lisa was a favorite of mine at St. John's. She always had a smile on her face and never failed to come up to me and ask how me and my family was doing. Lori Blank Squires

We're so sorry to hear of Lisa's passing and wanted to offer our condolences to all her family members and friends. Although it's been quite a few years since we've seen her last, Wayne always remembers the last time Denny and he went to see her while we were in SLC, and she recognized him immediately. What a gift she was to everyone around her. Her spirit was extraordinary, and it reminded us of how the good Lord picked the perfect time to call her home. Imagine her being able to spend Christmas in heaven with Jesus and her other family members. The timing of her departure was as if sister Betty was beckoning her to join in the celebration. Even with the loss of two family members recently, we're sure this was all part of God's plan for them to join Him in celebration. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and the family. I knew Lisa at Rotary Training Center. I started out as a summer (for at least 4 summers) volunteer; then was hired as a staff person for two summers before I enrolled at the "U." One summer, Lisa was a member of my class (either '66 or '67). Lisa was one of my favorites. She had a wonderful smile and thinking of her makes me smile. Thoughts and prayers for her family and her friends.

What a joy it was to visit my coolest aunt ever as a young boy. I remember all the fun times we had, and will always remember her as one of the sweetest and most loving people I've ever met. I was lucky to have her as my aunt. God Bless, Aunt Lisa. Looking forward to being there and seeing everyone later this month at her remembrance service.
