Loren H. Attwood
September 10, 1957 - June 24, 2022
Our beloved Mother, Wife and Friend to many, Loren Healy Attwood passed away peacefully at home in Salt Lake City, Utah on June 24, 2022, next to her daughter Amy Attwood. Sadly, Loren entered end-stage heart failure in 2022 and became very sick. After several difficult months, Loren was able to rest at home with the assistance of compassionate hospice staff.
Loren was born in Salt Lake City on September 10, 1957, to Ann T. Healy and Robert L. Healy. She had one younger sibling, Langdon T. Healy. She married her husband of 43 years Lynn Attwood on August 6th, 1977, whom she met at Lewis and Clark College. Loren graduated from Lewis and Clark with a B.S. in Psychology which led her to the important work she did with pregnant teenagers. Being the outgoing person Loren was, she held a variety of careers from a short order cook (she cooked all eggs hard despite the customer’s request for soft) to real estate and eventually bought our family store Dancewear Unlimited.
After retirement Loren enjoyed playing bridge, socializing, and helping administer the Town Club Bridge groups and The League of Women Voters. Through these activities Loren established new and strong friendships. That wasn’t surprising because Loren made her mark on this world through the relationships she cultivated throughout the years. Though Loren faced many difficult days during the 2020 pandemic she made the most of it by growing her love for her favorite game bridge online and it brought her so much joy. You could spot Loren at the Town Club where she was on the board of governors overseeing the bridge groups. Being the social person she was, she also maintained many friendships that were long distance and would always be a phone call away. These were some of the things she enjoyed most.
Loren is survived by her husband Lynn Attwood, her children Amy and Emily Attwood, and her brother Langdon Healy. Loren was preceded in death by her mother Ann Greenough Toombes Healy and her father Robert Loren Healy.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 29th, 2022 at 2:00 PM at St. Mark’s Episcopal Cathedral, 231 East First South, Salt Lake City Utah and will be followed by a Celebration of Life at 3:00 PM at The Town Club , 1081 East South Temple, Salt Lake City Utah.
In lieu of flowers please make a donation in Loren's name to the American Heart Association at www.heart.org.
In Loving Memory
Lucky to have known Loren at East High. She was a sweetheart. Fortunate to get together with her in fall 2019 where she mostly bragged about her daughters. Rest in Peace.

Lynn, we are sad to hear about Loren in the newspaper yesterday. Pauline and I remember her constant smile and her ability to connect to people immediately. It is hard to believe she is no longer here.
