Louie Coletti
December 1, 1948 - June 24, 2018
The love of my life, Louie Coletti, passed away from pancreatic cancer on June 24, 2018 at home. He spent the last few weeks of his life seeing all of his loved ones and doing exactly what he wanted, to the very end. Louie was born on Dec. 1, 1948 in Kemmerer, WY to Joe and Elaine Coletti. The family moved to SLC, UT when Louie was 5 years old. Louie graduated from Granite High School in 1967 and from the U of U in 1971.
Louie worked in the Structural Steel Business for 35 years, the last 24 years at Masco where he always felt like he was part of the family. At the age of 61 he retired from Masco and moved to Mesquite, NV in 2009 where he enjoyed his retirement years playing tennis with friends, traveling around the world with his wife, gambling, enjoying Pai Gow Poker at the casino with his sister Carole. Louie loved duplicate Bridge and was proud to earn his life Masters with his wife in 2012. Louie enjoyed most every sport and was a big fan of the LA Dodgers and would go to their Spring Training with his brother, John. Louie won Gold and Silver medals in the Mesquite and St. George Senior Games for Tennis. Louie was also very good at and enjoyed other sports; Racquetball, Pickle Ball and Table Tennis with his friends and darts with his brothers Joe and Jim.
Louie fell in love at first sight with his wife, Linda Coletti, and is survived by her. They were married in the Smokey Mountains of Tennessee on November 23, 2001. Linda kept Louie on his toes and he loved her for it. He was a kindhearted man, always giving of himself, especially to his wife. He was the best husband anyone could ask for. Louie was very proud of his daughter, Lisa. She gained a great work ethic from him, which he valued. Louie is also survived by his sister Carole; daughter Lisa; step children Tyler (Jamie), Bryce (Danielle), Shantel (Oscar), Darron (Shannon), Holly, Michael (Megan), Heather; and many grandchildren. Louie had fond memories of good times with his children and grandchildren. Louie will be missed by all who knew him.
There will be a Celebration of life held in his honor at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 S 900 E, Salt Lake City, UT on Monday, July 2, 2018 at 1:30 pm. A special Thank You to Mesa View Hospice for making his last days comfortable.
In Loving Memory
We were happy our niece, Linda, married someone who made her happy and we were able to get to know Louie through this marriage. We enjoyed their visits to us in Orem, Utah and also especially our visits with them in Mesquite, Nevada. He was always welcoming to us and we enjoyed very much getting to know him. He did live out his last days as he wanted and we were happy he got to see all of his family. Our love to Linda and his extended family.
