Louise G. Rodriguez

At Peace

Our loving mother took flight with the angels September 22nd, 2008.

Louise was born September 5th, 1955 in Salt Lake City the 3rd of 4 children to Marcella and Alfonso Garcia.  She married her true love James Rodriguez on September 30, 1972.  Together they had two loving sons Christopher and Paul to whom they dedicated their lives.  They later divorced but remained close friends throughout the years.  Louise loved spending time with her sons and grandbabies.  She was the mom that always came to school with treats and made the best Halloween costumes for the school parades.  She was the shoulder to cry on and the ear that listened.  She had the biggest heart and always put others needs before hers.

She is survived by her sons Christopher (Trisha) and Paul (Natalie); grandbabies Dakota, Aspen, Talon, Raven and Xavier; her father; and sisters Carol and Cathy; and many other extended family members and friends.  Preceded in death by her mother; and brother Ronald.

A Viewing will be held on Thursday, September 25th from 6:00-8:00 PM at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 4501 West 5215 South, where a Rosary will start at 7:00 PM.  A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on September 26th at 2:00 PM at the Church.  Interment to follow at Redwood Memorial Estates, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan.

To Louise's family, I send my heartfelt condolences at her passing. She used to do my nails a very long time ago-the boys were barely in elementary school-and I would go to their apartment when I got off work. She was a devoted mom who expected a lot from her kids...and they were helpful, well behaved and a great source of joy to her. She used to make chile verde for dinner and it was delicious, so I asked her for the recipe. She would not share it, but she DID make me quarts to take home a few times. It would be late and I would be hungry...and I'd just grab a spoon and pig out on it while I was driving home. Pretty piggy, I know, but it was yummy. I told her I never knew which version I was getting...sometimes mild and sometimes hotter than hell. She'd just laugh and call me a wimpy gringo. She stopped doing nails and went to work in Park City, so it was hard to stay in touch. I occasionally would see her cuz she was very good friends with my next-door neighbors (Tom and Lynda Brown)....but it's been a long time. I'm so sorry she had such struggles in her life, but I am super happy to know that the boys are married, there are five grandbabies, and she still had her dad and sisters and Jim in her life. Family was major to her and I'm so glad you were all there to help and love her. May God grant you peace in knowing she is okay and you will see her again. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
