 Lucille L. DeCoster

“Lucy”

Beloved sister to Bette, loving “Aunty”, passed away on Monday, May 7, 2012.  Aunty was surrounded by her family whom she loved dearly.

Lucy was born in Wakefield, Michigan on October 11, 1918.  Lucy had an engaging smile, a twinkle in her eye and a sharp mind.  She was loved and admired by all who met her.  She lived most of her adult life on the Gold Coast of Chicago.  Lucy and Bette moved to Utah to be closer to all the little ones.  Lucy was an avid Bears fan and enjoyed many hours cheering for the Bears with her nephew, Robert.

Lucy was the classic “Career Woman.”  She spent 45 years at Exxon Mobil.  Lucy worked her way up the corporate ladder to executive status, which in those days was a challenge for any woman.   Lucy’s corporate status was a testimonial to her work ethic, communication skills, brains, personality and style.  Lucy was well known for her thoughtfulness and class.

Lucy is survived by her sister, Bette Knoch, nieces and nephews: Liz (Julian) Warton, Robert (Laura Jane) Knoch, Gary (Chris) Lewandowski, Bobbi Lewandowski, Kathy Regan, Johnny, Robby, Alex, Maddie, Jesse, Jessica and Sean.  Lucy’s family was the “light of her life” and she to them.

We wish to thank her fabulous nurse, Chris from Eclipse, her physician extraordinaire, Dr. Sara Wells and her compassionate nursing aide, Sulieti for easing her final days.  We love you all.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, May 12, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 3015 East Creek Road.  Visitation will be an hour prior to mass.  A reception will follow the mass.

In Loving Memory

Aunt, Thank you for being the best aunt I could ever had wished for. I felt like you were more of a second mom to me than an aunt. I cherish all the great times we had together. You were so good to me and my family. You will be truely missed but will be in our hearts forever. Gods speed and Go Bears! Your loving nephew, Robert

While we've not met, Lucy's obit says that she was a kind, loving person. Anyone who lived on Chicago's 'Godl Coast' during those years, lived the good life, and I suspect she did her share. As a member of the generation that really defined 'womens' rights', Lucy was truly a forerunner in her right. Our prayers to you and your family. George Starks- .

What a special, wonderful lady. She will truely be missed. Liz, I will always remember the times when "Auntie" came to visit. I was always in awe. She always came bearing all kinds of wonderful goodies. The best dolls I had ever seen. She was always so fun to be around & was so accepting of all of us (neighborhood friends). I know that she has left a large void in all of your lives & that it will take time to heal. But it will heal so that when you think of her it will be with pleasant & joyful memories. Our Love to you all. Wish we could be there tomorrow to give you each a Big Hug. God Bless you, Love G&C

Dear Mrs. Knoch, Liz, and Robert, I am so sorry to her of Aunty's passing. As a young girl she made such a wonderful impression on me that it has followed me through the intervening years. Fun memories of skiing (PC necklaces and orange ski jackets), sleepovers downtown and visits to Highland Park. In spirit, I am with you all. Much love, Mary

Le Le,Thanks for the recording. Very clear pintuncraoion. Excellent job!So far there seem to be two little pintuncraoion issues: one is that sometimes you have tumbled on the V sound; the other one would be the R sound technically, you did well on this sound, but not quite the American way yet. You need to pay more attention to your intonation. For that, I recommend that you choose a few short articles that you like, if possible, choose those that have American-style recordings, read along till you can follow the intonation well.Overall, very good reading, and we look forward to seeing your next one. Some audio comments have been added to your original recording for your reference.
