M. Cory Flinders
A GUY TO LOVE AND REMEMBER
5/10/1957 – 7/25/2014
Cory passed away at his home in Park City, UT on July 25, 2014. He was born in Salt Lake City, UT and raised in Park City.
Cory graduated from Park City High School in 1975. He then attended Utah State University and the University Of Utah where he studied communications. After college, Cory traveled in search of a big city adventure and finally settled in San Francisco, CA where he spent the best part of his life. While there he made many life-long friends.
He enjoyed his career in the food industry having the opportunity to work in some of the finest restaurants. He also tapped into his communication abilities with stints in radio and public television, where he co-hosted a show in San Francisco called "Oh Honey!" with his friend Jacquie.
Cory returned to Park City in the early 2000's to care for some challenging physical ailments and remained there until his passing. He had an acute sense of humor and an infectious laugh. Those who knew him well were entertained and schooled by his wit and knowledge. He was a deep thinker and enjoyed exploring the philosophies of life.
Cory is survived by his parents Mel and Sandy Flinders of Park City, UT; siblings Shelly (Tom) Martinez, Susan (Harvey) McComb, Vanette (Darrick) Olsen, Tom (Kristin) Flinders, Chad (Kami) Flinders and Jamie (Matt) Oman; 11 nieces and 11 nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

We just happened to see Cory's obit and something caused me to read it and before I knew who it even was I felt drawn to read your message about him. Suddenly I looked back and said CORY?!? Cory Flinders. Seriously?! You all know how much we loved him and his irrepressible humor and candor. (And YES Jan and Michelle were never far behind!) We hope you know how sorry we are to hear he has left us and we can only hope his life was full of great experiences in San Francisco and elsewhere in life. Please know how much we have carried you all with us over the past 40 years. When we saw his birthday we realized we were so close to you all in age at the time we spent in Park City with you. No wonder we felt like you were best friends. We send our love to you. Taylor and Jean Hartman Park City High 1975-1976

If I could take the pain away I would do it in a minute. Just know that I am here for you and the only comfort I can give is to cry with you and say nothing. I love you both so much.

My thoughts are with your family as you say goodbye to Cory. He always put a smile on my face. I remember he told me that he liked to sprinkle California Poopy seeds along the ditches of Utah so that when they grew they would remind him of home-San Francisco. I will sprinkle some seeds for him! He will be missed by many.

To all who feel the loss of Cory, my heart goes out to you. I wish I would have had a chance to meet the man whom so many people call friend. His presence, laughter and personality was far reaching. I watched Kevin writing with tears the reading for his celebration of life. It was easy to see how much he would be missed.
