In Loving Memory

Sorry to read of Mac's death, but know that I speak for many young kids in the early 60's that grew up in the pool hall, ate many hot dogs and were always treated as family by Mac- Oh we also had a few 3.2 %beers. He was a father figure to many of us!!

Mac was always a father to those of us who didn't have one and was a good friend to Joe Brite, my grandfather. I spent many days at Mack's pool hall and have nothing but fond memories of Mack. At once, a strick disiplinarian and a good friend when you needed one, Mack was part of the rate breed of men who helped Alamosa grow back in simpler times. Mack always gave good advice to young men and I'll never forget how very kind he was to kids of all nationalities. Go with God, Mack. He'll finally get to see his best work!!

Indeed, Mack was an institution, not just a man. The respect that he drew from people was enormous. Losing Mack is like losing one of my own family members. Very, very few people in my life have deserved the respect and admiration that I felt for Mack. My prayers are with all the Pierotti family. A tremendous loss.

Arlene, Jimmy, Ray, Sharon, and Debbie, The Pierotti family was a very special part of my life growing up. I know how much my dad and mom thought of Mack, and he always was so good to all of us "Smiths". It is never easy to lose such a special person, but I know your strong faith, the love of your family and friends, and the beautiful memories you all have will help you through the difficult times. How lucky we all were to have him in our lives. I think of your family often when I drive down Alamosa Ave. God bless you. Love, Ric and Mary (Smith) Cline

We are saddened to hear of Mack's passing. Mack was one in a million, he was a true role model for everyone that had the privilege to know him. I grew up in Alamosa, Colorado. During the late 40's and 50's I had several heroes, one of whom was your husband, father, grandfather and brother Mack. I knew him as a ball player, businessman, and role model. On the ball field he was a fierce competitor, a terrific team-mate, and an inspiration to the younger guys around him. As a businessman he maintained an atmosphere of good, friendly camaraderie and a place where everybody was equal, and he was firm but fair with his advice and guidance. His circle of friends included my Dad Ellis, who ran a local butcher shop, his neighboring business, Dave Miller's barbershop, Spud Orr, another of my personal heroes, and too many others to count. For those of us who grew up knowing him he was always a friend, and each of us always stopped in to visit any time we came back to visit friends and family. Although it's been many years since I last saw him, I know that those who knew him feel a sense of loss at his passing, and mourn him as you do. He was a helluva guy, he had a good run, and he will be missed. Respectfully, Norman Nash Class of '53, Alamosa High School Class of '57, ASC

I am writing on behalf of Janice and I and my Parents. Don & Gloria. I heard about Mac's passing the evening before I left to go to home to Alamosa to visit Mom and Dad, or I would have been at his funeral service, I was told by my sister Pam who was planning on attending. Dad told me about the stories he had with Mac when they played baseball together back in the Valley and what a "true gentleman" Mac was. Our prayers and best wishes to Arlene, Jim, Ray, Sharon, and Debra and your families. Alan Wuckert

I have alot of good and fond memories of Mac, as a boss and a very good friend. He sold me his business in the 70's and I tried to keep it the same as he had it, even the name "Mac"s Pool Hall." I remember he played softball for the Scared Heart Church. He did stop at Walmart to see me a few years ago and we had a wonderful visit. It was sad to hear that he passed away. His family are in my prayers.
