Margaret (Maggie) E. Bowen

November 22, 1953 - June 9, 2023

She was a beloved sister, friend, mother, and grandmother. Her journey took her from Ft. Ord, California to Germany, witnessing the building of the Berlin Wall, before returning to Fort Ord and later touching down in Kentucky, and eventually finding her way back to Ogden, Utah.

Throughout her life, she embraced adventure and service. She joined the Air Force Reserves, where she contributed her skills to the F1055 aircraft before advancing to the new F165 stationed at Hill Air Force Base in Utah. Her dedication and passion for her work led her to multiple deployments, including three visits to Germany, as well as Holland, Korea, the Philippines, Somalia, Texas, and Kansas.

She was the first female crew chief at Hill Air Force Base on the F165, a testament to her trailblazing spirit and unwavering commitment. The Air Force was not just a career for her; it was a cherished part of her life that she loved dearly.

In addition to her military accomplishments, she was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her faith was an anchor in her life, and she cherished the fellowship of her fellow members. Her love for the LDS community was deep and genuine.

Above all, she will be remembered for her kind heart and love for everyone she encountered.

She is preceded in death by her father, mother, older sister, brother, and her eldest daughter. She leaves behind her son, daughter, grandchildren, sister, and brother.

She will have a memorial service on Friday, June 23, 2023 from 6-8 PM at Starks Funeral Parlor located at 3651 S 900 E, SLC, Utah.

We would like to give a special thanks to the doctors, nurses, and other various people who helped her in hospital and nursing home days.

In Loving Memory

I love you & will always remember you. All the silly stuff we did. You were the best friend most folks could only dream of. Watching a meteor shower, or sitting on the patio just talking.  All that you did for me.  Please kiss Jakers & Loki from me. Even though heaven gained an angel, the world is just a little dimmer without you. Love Always
