Margaret Y. Brain

February 10, 1950 - July 24, 2017

Margaret (Margie) Brain, age 67, died July 24, 2017 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

She was born in Dayton, Ohio, February 10, 1950, to Myron Yoshimura and Aika Saito.

She lived in Ohio throughout her childhood, school years, and during her attendance at Ohio State University. She also spent time in California, Park City, and the last 13 years in Midvale, Utah.

In 2005, she married Jan Richard Brain, and they remained devoted companions.

Margie had the reputation of being an extremely hard worker and in each job she had throughout her life, she gave it her very best. In addition to her well-known work ethic, she always thought of others and how to serve them. She was an extremely generous person, not only with family and friends, but made many charitable contributions throughout her life.

Margie's christian faith meant a great deal to her and her church activity was something she enjoyed both in California and in Park City. At certain times in her life, depending on where she was living, she would drive over 100 miles to attend her church services

Margie will be remembered by all who knew her, as a person of character and integrity and one who spent her time in the service of others.

For the past ten years, Margie struggled with various health problems but faced each illness with the courage and determination that she was known for. All of her doctors and nurses who worked with her over the years called her a "fighter." Some of these  people spent a lot of time with her for the last eight years and cared about her and gained great respect for her.

She is survived by her husband, Jan; son, Greg (Trinh); and brothers Allen (Karen), and Mark (Pam).

We extend our gratitude to our wonderful family members who helped care for her durning her difficult last days. Also, thank you to her many concerned friends and the wonderful people at Quality Home Health and Hospice, who helped us take care of her.

A memorial service and celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, August 10th at 4:00 PM at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City, where friends may call upon the family one hour prior to the service.
