Maria Teresa Aguirre
August 4, 1932 - August 7, 2026
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Maria Teresa Aguirre, on August 7, 2026, at the age of 94.
Born August 4, 1932, in Chihuahua, Mexico, Maria Teresa immigrated to the United States and, through courage, faith, and sacrifice, raised five children on her own. She worked hard throughout her life to provide for her family, including 24 years at Eimac/Varian. She taught her children to love family, work hard, love everyone, and have faith in God. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the light of her life.
A devoted Catholic, Maria Teresa was a longtime member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, where she volunteered for many years assisting with funerals. Her faith was reflected in her generosity, service, and love for others.
Maria Teresa also loved football. Her favorite team was the University of Utah Utes, and on game day she proudly wore her red and cheered them on “Go Utes.” She also enjoyed cheering for the Kansas City Chiefs. Maria often said that in her next life, she wanted to be a football coach.
She is survived by her children, Henry; Terry (Mark); Rocio (Robert); Monica; and Fred. Fred devoted many years to caring for his mother as her health declined. She treasured her grandchildren, Callista (Jared), Andrea, Eric (Lisa), Dani, Anna, Lucas, and Alex, and her great-grandchildren, Brynn, McKensey, Ridge, Owen, Lennox, and Odin “Little Nachito”.
Her family is deeply grateful for the many friends who shared in her life through her community, workplace, and parish—many of whom became like family over the years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ignacio and Maria Teresa Uslé, and her brother, Jose Ignacio Uslé.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, August 24, 2026 at 11:00 AM at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 4501 W 5215 S, Kearns, UT. Friends and family may gather at 9:30 AM. A recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 10:30 AM.
Interment to follow at Valley View Memorial Park, 4335 W 4100 S, West Valley City, UT.
Maria Teresa leaves a lasting legacy of family, love, hard work, and faith in God.
May she rest in peace.
